Indra Rise Die Mitbewegung
(1999)
for flute & organ Dur. 15'
PROGRAMME NOTE We witness the passing of time as a stream of states of consciousness. This current, however, is not one that moves relative to a fixed shore. Although it seems to us at times as if we look down from a bridge onto the stream of time, it makes us dizzy and causes dismay that the bridge and banks move along with us, that there is no stopping, that there is nothing in the current of time which is not moved along. Georg Franck
PERFORMANCE NOTES Notation
key slap key slap simultaneously with sound aeolian sounds (only the breath is audible) breath and sound mixed inhale
change very progressively from one sound or way of playing to another flats and sharps are valid within one measure and only in the same octave
non-tempered (micro) intervals:
sing and play simultaneously, make glissando with voice while playing
click any keys, not changing the written pitch; it is intended that the clicks produce a kind of vibrato
PERFORMANCE NOTES The solo part for flute should be played downstage, at the front of the audience. Later on, while the organist is playing his solo part, the flutist moves to the normal position, close to the organist.
