Explanations Voice:

Rolling tongue. No clear pitch should be heard.

Rolling tongue changing between with and without pitch.

A notation used to show that the vowel conected to the f-sound is gradually changing from ”a” to ”i” or from a low position back in the mouth to a high position in front of the mouth.

The s-sound should be like a small tremolo (trembling-effect) caused by a fast shaking of the tongue.

Normal s-sound and if nothing else is indicated this means a very sharp s with an ”i” behind.

Notation used for spoken words. Should be in the most natural spoken register of the singer although not too high. The notation is also applied for quasi whispering not to be confused with the other whispering effect applied for more air-like sounds.

Is a single ”v” in german. In general all the vowels in brackets are thougt as imaginary vowels that change the color of consonants.

As high note as possible.

Violin:

This keysignature is a picture of the instrument with the tailpiece in the top, the bridge in the middle and the fingerboard starting at the top of the system. It indicates where the bow should be placed on the instrument unless other information like for instance ”pizzicato” or ”finger” is written.

Damp the strings so no clear pitch is heard.

Open strings sign mostly used after the damping sign.

Play on the bridge in this case with the woodside of the bow.

Play with the woodside of the bow and drag it in the indicated direction forth and back.

Bow pressure on the indicated note.

Maximum bowpressure with the strings damped. Only a scratchy sound should be heard.

Open strings and 3/2 bowpressure in order to produce a more unstable and ”screaming” sound.

”Ord.” means the normal way of playing. ”Sul pont” means play on the bridge. ”Pont” means play near the bridge. ”Pont estremo” means play as close to the bridge as possible. ”Quasi legno tratto” means that the player should play partly with the hair and wood side of the bow. ”Col legno” means with the wood side of the bow. ”Col legno bat.” means hit the string(s) with the wood side of the bow.

The piano: The piano is prepared as followed: A weight on the key of E3. Sticky tab on the strings of c4, d4, e4, h4, c5, d5. E-bow on the string of a-flat4 Preparations on the following strings with different objects like screws and rawplugs. H1, F-sharp1, C-sharp2, G2. A tie wrapped around the strings of A-flat1, G1 & F-sharp1.

Objects to be used: A hard mallet. A small glas. A plasticcard of any kind (like a credit card) A tie.
