In an ever-falling chromatic movement, my piano quartet Lamento tells of a boundless grief that transforms into a heroic gesture at the endings vanishing point.

I en evigt faldende kromatisk sats fortæller min klaverkvartet, Lamento, om en grænseløs sorg, der ind i slutningens forsvindings-punkt forvandler sig til en heroisk gestus.

Lamento was originally composed for the Cantilena Piano Quartet on the occasion of Carl Nielsen's 125th birthday in 1990. It was revised in 2020.

Lamento blev oprindeligt komponeret til Cantilena Piano Quartet i anledning af Carl Nielsens 125 års fødselsdag i 1990. Den er revideret i 2020.
