Jeppe Ernst Offertorium: Behandling A

(2015)

Offertorium: Treatment A for male and female performers Dur. c. 8

INTRODUCTION

Noteheads:

Offertorium: Behandling A is a piece composed for physical touch and is to be performed by a male and a female performer. The two performers stand face to face, playing on each others heads. During the movements the performers have their eyes closed and the score is therefore to be memorized. In between the movements the performers will have their eyes open and have eye contact for ten seconds before continuing with the next movement. Throughout the piece hands should be held at chest height.

A regular notehead indicates the 3rd finger.

THE SCORE

An upwards pointing notehead indicates a squeeze (1st and 3rd finger if nothing else is notated).

Text in a box indicates which area of the head is to be touched. Note lengths indicates for how long to perform an action. Slurs indicate the continuation of an action and to not lift the finger from the skin between two different actions. Dynamics All touch is very soft and gentle unless something else is notated. Structure As an aid for the musician in memorizing the piece an overview of the structure of the individual movements is to be found as an appendix. The composer must be contacted should the work(s) be performed: mail@jeppeernst.dk

A crossed notehead indicates the knuckles. A squared notehead indicates a flat hand. A downwards pointing notehead indicates a finger-flick using the 1st and 3rd finger.
