PERFORMANCE NOTES The musicians can play each instruction as they like. But everybody must agree to be within the same instruction at the same time. The piece is to be played reading from left to right and downwards in three rows. The duration of the whole piece is minimum 15 minutes. The instructions: Number one deals with different ways of making vibratos and trills. Numer two: Play sfortzato attacks followed by a sustained piano. Number three: Play sustained soft tones, then a short break and another soft tone. Continue like that as long as is needed. Number four: Each played note starts with a very clear marcato attack. Number five: Make individual breaks between each rapid melody, and make sure that every break is long enough that you become able to play melodies in a convincing way. Number six: It is expected that about 70% of each musicians contribution of sound must consist of pause. Enough time is required that you get a real impression of very few sounds in a large space. Of course sounds may interact, but this will be very limited. Number seven - the twin bubbles: In the upper - first note only is staccato in each played motif. And the other one - here it is intended to create a kind of heterophony together. Change of bubble is allowed as many times as you feel like. Number eight: Play very different pitches and use a wide span of each instruments’ full register. Number ten: Whatever you intend to play - always do it portamento.
