Hi, everyone! This year my parents have decided to do a staycation. We will visit different places nearby. We will explore the Charlevoix region at the end of July. Do any of you have suggestions of fun activities we should do? I really like sports, outdoor activities and animals. Thank you! 5 Replies

Ilovefishing2004 on May 3, 12:53 p.m. Hi, Paul2005! We went to Malbaie last year and I had a lot of fun. If you like fishing, you will love the Parc national des Grands-Jardins. At this park, you can also go hiking up Mont du Lac-des-Cygnes and see the Charlevoix meteorite crater and Vallée du Gros-Bras. Enjoy!

Pokemontraveller02 on May 12, 9:01 a.m. If you love animals, you will enjoy whale watching. You can take a boat or a zodiac in Baie-Ste-Catherine. If you are lucky like us, you will get to see whales and also visit the Saguenay Fjord. The view is breathtaking!
Staycation ideas by: Extremeridr | Posted on April 28, 3:54 p.m. way2kewl on May 13, 10:53 a.m. Where to go fishing by: llovefishing2004 | Posted on April 27, 9:22 a.m.
If you like camping, there are some fun places around Lac Nairne. You will have access to the water, so you will be able to rent kayaks or canoes. If you like the beach, you will have fun playing volleyball or swimming in the lake.
You are so lucky to visit Charlevoix! Too bad your staycation is in July! If you have time in June, you should go to the Charlevoix Rodeo and Western Festival. You will see the parade on the first day. You will also get to see country music concerts, play in the inflatable games and see the lumberjack contest. That was my favourite part!
Glossary breathtaking: very beautiful and impressive to rent: to pay to use
Extremeridr on May 30, 4:19 p.m. Make sure to stop in Saint-Simeon for a great adventure at Via Ferrata Pallisades de Charlevoix! There, you will be able to go zip lining over a lake, hiking and climbing. If you do the Via Ferrata Faucon, you will do a hike with natural mountainside balconies and terraces, but don’t worry, you will be secured by wire cables! There’s also a suspended bridge!
