THE CAT MEOWS BUT IT ALSO PURRS.
THIS IS THE SOUND A COW MAKES WHEN MOOING.
Cats meow or purr. Cows moo.
Donkeys bray.
Sheep bleat.
Chickens cackle.
Roosters crow.
Chicks cheep. Horses neigh. Rabbits squeak. Ducks quack. Pigs squeal.
Dogs bark or howl.
Try to meow like a cat and bark like a dog. Then, wag your tail like a puppy dog and jump around like a kitten.
Moo like a cow. Flap your wings like a rooster. Waddle like a duck and trot like a horse.
Do you know how to make other animal sounds? Make these sounds for your friends.
Bulls also moo. Goats also bleat, geese also quack and wolves howl. How about making these sounds too?
Make your own book of animal sounds. Choose your favorite animals and write down the sounds they make. You may illustrate your book to make it even better!
The purpose of this book is to help children learn to like reading. The animals and accompanying illustrations encourage the child to learn about the animal on each page and the sound it makes. Children’s curiosity is stimulated even more when they imitate these sounds, making them come alive in their own speech and creating their own onomatopoeias. The book’s graphic design is geared towards beginning readers. The font helps the child recognize the letters of the alphabet easily. The short, informative sentences encourage independent reading. That means that a child who has not yet developed full reading skills can relate to or match words to their meanings by remembering their sounds.
This book also provides valuable experience in expanding a child’s vocabulary. Learning the name of new animals and the sound they make does contribute to the overall development of young readers.
I'm Aloma, and I believe there is nothing more enjoyable than having a child by our side as we softly read 'magical' words out of a book to him or her and see the expression in the child's eyes. It's a wonderful surprise for the child to discover something they already know in a book, or even better, to learn something new. These ideas are what brought the Animal Sounds Series to life. They were written for children of all ages who delight in holding a book in their hands and playing with the words that come to life on the pages.
As a mother, educator, teacher, and writer, above all, I'm an avid reader. I hope you have enjoyed reading my book!
