ABOUT THE BOOK

This picture book not only teaches the names of different parts of the body of different animals, but also provides the reader with a unique textual and visual reading. After all, in each portrait, the look, the movement of the mouth and the direction of the body reveal a special moment of the animal portrayed, a stimulus for babies and young children to develop the ability to recognize animals and the emotions they express through their own bodies. Facial recognition is the basis for forming emotional bonds and developing important social and cognitive skills. Empathy and humor were the elements used to construct the narratives presented here, a very special invitation to connect with books and reading, promoting a fun literary immersion experience for the whole family.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Aloma and I am an author, editor and translator of children’s books, especially baby books. I love picture books that show animals in different contexts and so I decided to create this fun book full of animals that children usually love. I think readers of all ages will enjoy the animals that appear in the photos and the short text full of questions that make reading even more curious. My work has already been recognized by Brazil’s Ministry of Education, by the UNESCO Chair Seal and by the UN 2030 Agenda SDG Reading Club Library. I like books with simple texts and word games that delight babies and young children, guaranteeing a pleasant literary experience and promoting the actions of the UNESCO Global Literacy Alliance for family reading.
