Join dental students from around the world to help the people living in informal settlements around Soweto, South Africa control child tooth decay - the most widespread condition affecting children in South Africa
The team will have a unique opportunity to mix with the community, work with the Siyabanakekela Social Club and empower the amazing Gogos (grandmother caregivers) to prevent oral disease
The project will take place from April 1st - 15th, 2019

Candidates will be responsible for getting themselves to and from Johannesburg airport on the above dates, including the organization and costs of flights, visa, and insurance. Once in South Africa, all expenses are covered, including accommodation, food, transport and even the weekend excursions. Gogos Give Smiles is phase II of a child oral health promotion pilot, initiated by IADS-Humble Smile IVP in February 2018.
