In addition Jaca is one of the main Spanish winter sports centres- located only a few kilometers from Astún and Candanchú ski resorts. It has the only pavilion in Spain with two ice rinks: an official Olympic rink (60 x 30 meters) and a recreational one (60 x 20 meters).
The pavillion is mainly used for the practice of ice sports (figure skating, hockey, curling), hosting international high-level competitions and cultural events (concerts, conventions, etc). It has become a successful reference of the future of Jaca.
The building has a dome-shaped structure made of glass and steel. The membrane groups roof, façade and structure. It is perceived as a soft crystal of ice.
The seating capacity of the stadium is allocated to be about 1,891 spectators although it is expandable up to 3,579 seats- by installing temporary bleachers- or even up to 6,700 when the audience remains on their feet (concerts).
The Ice Pavilion is easily accessible from both the city and the neighboring municipalities. It is about 111 kms away from Pamplona and 143 kms from Zaragoza.
