Horse Fair 2019

Jerez, with its historic links to the Spanish horse, will celebrate its Horse Fair 2019 by inviting horse lovers, enthusiasts, and experts alike to enjoy an ample programme of proposals of a sporting, cultural, educational, and recreational nature; a programme which will reassert the important role played by the city in the development of the equestrian industry in Spain.

To speak of horses is to speak of Jerez. Almost 150 years dedicated to the breeding of Purebred Spanish and Purebred Arabian horses at the Carthusian Monastery and the stud farms of Depósito de Sementales, Cortijos de Vicos and Garrapilos, endorse the importance of the city for a sector that is currently fl ourishing at a national level

This year provides a unique opportunity to discover the city through one of its most internationally recognised identifying symbols: the horse, which together with sherry and fl amenco has provided one of the emblems of Jerez since ancient times.

An interesting programme of equestrian events and activities is organised during the Jerez Fair, culminating with the presentation of the Golden Horse trophy, one of the most prestigious awards in the equestrian world.
