The Legend Lives On...
Words From The Wise “Never regret. If it's good, it's wonderful. If it's bad, it's experience.” There is only one way we can relief a fellow being of his griefs and that is by putting ourselves in his shoes and sharing his problem. Inkpot exactly aims at this motive...It forces us to come out of our fantasy world and explore the plethora of the undiscovered society in our city. Kudos to the Professional Development & Editorial Team for commencing and completing this project at the right time and in the most mesmerizing manner. I hope you’ll enjoy reading the articles in this bulletin and actually think about how ignorant we are about the problems our very own citizens of Mumbai are undergoing. Happy Reading... -Rtr. Romeeta Sukhtankar, President 2010-2011, Rotaract Club of H.R. College.

From The Professionals Inkpot, a platform for all the members to get the exposure and the experience which they have never got before. The professional development avenue shows the other side of the world, the different people and the way they have to live their lives. The members get to learn about this life. How lucky we people are that we live such a luxurious, eloquent life. We had the members go to various people like a prostitute, a eunuch, a sevpuriwala, etc. We had to go to interview these people and this gives the members another outlook to life. This is an amazing concept, and its one of a kind. -Rtr. Sharang Dhaimade, Rtr. Shashank Jogani, Rtr. Dhriti Jhaveri and Rtr. Nikunj Pherwani, Professional Development Team 2010-2011, Rotaract Club of H.R. College.
FACTS Primitive man was very superstitious and the early tribes believed that both good and bad spirits, which entered the body through the hairs on the head, inhabited every individual. The bad spirits could only be driven out of the individual by cutting the hair, so various fashions of hair cutting were practiced by the different tribes and this made the barber the most important man in the community.
A watch at our security
Mumbai is a city of dreams!!! Citizens from different states migrate to this dream city, hoping to get employed and live a comfortable and luxurious life. But quite contrary to the image of the city there is a section of the society who has been unable to achieve their dream completely!!! For instance, a cobbler, bus conductor etc.!!!We were really inquisitive to know the lifestyle of these people who get petty earnings!!! We took the opportunity an experienced one of the things we would have never imagined doing!!! We took an interview of a watchman who sacrifices his sleep so that people in the building sleep with a peace of mind!!! Baburao Deshmukh, a dutiful watchman has been having sleepless nights so as to prevent the residents of Govt. Colony from any unforeseen circumstances!!! He is around 60 years old and has been a watchman for the past 40 years of his life!! He hails from Uttar Pradesh. His family comprises 8 members, and he and his brother who also is a petty worker, are the bread earners for the family!!! Baburao lives alone in Mumbai and tries his level best to earn enough so as to help his family survive... He had lost his parents at a very tender age so he and his brother have shouldered the responsibility of keeping their family going!!!He is always regular for his duty and when questioned that whether he is satisfied with his job, he answers saying that he repents on being uneducated due to which his family is suffering!!! When asked whether he has kids and whether they are educated- he hid his face with a small tear in his eye!!! He said that he had kids but due to financial crisis he couldn't send them to school... We thought that since he really wanted his children to get educated we gave him the Badlaav card and asked him to enroll his kids through us for free education!! -Rtr. Purvi Parikh
