Howdy Everyone!

It is a New Year and we are all excited to see what is in store for us in 2024! As I think ahead to all this year may ofer us, can I first say, how lucky we all are to be a part of such a great breed organization!! Raising and showing our strong, quality cattle is a goal for everyone, however, my heart wants to also make the point that our junior organization is also raising amazing kids and that is where my focus will always be! So welcome new members, we are glad you are here! And those who have been here awhile, thank you for staying!

This promotional catalog for our junior organization is distributed to all youth showing at all major stock shows throughout Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Florida. We as youth have the incredible opportunity to purchase semen from quality breeders at a major discount this spring. This, first of all, gives us an opportunity to make powerful changes to our herd. Secondly, it allows the youth a chance to network with industry leaders within our breed and make lasting relationships. And finally, but not the least of these, is the fundraising opportunity this catalog is based around. These donated advertisements will help us ofset the expenses of our Junior National Show and Convention in July of this year.

I would like to personally invite you and your family to our annual National Show and Convention held in Belton, Texas at the Bell County Expo July 19th - 25th, 2024! This year is a special year as it is the 40th anniversary of our JBBA organization. Our theme is “Oh The Places We’ll Go… Oh The Places We’ve Been.” The Junior Board is already underway in planning for a fun packed week of activities centered around building relationships between the youth, pushing our comfort zones through friendly competition with more than our cattle, and developing our leadership skills! Who would want to pass up a week full of family fun, friendly competition, and amazing cattle!! All in air conditioned facilities! Plus, we have amazing scholarship opportunities, activities for our PeeWee aged youth, meals together throughout the week and a spectacular awards banquet the last night in which we award all the hard-work with beautiful awards including belt buckles, rosette ribbons, hand-crafted gorgeous banners & plaques, and we close down the week with a fun for all ages dance! Please give it a try, you will not be disappointed!! This has been the high-light of every summer for me and my family for the last 9 years!

As I close, I would like to personally thank all of the Beefmaster Breeders who said yes to making their bulls available to us and each one of our contributors who placed an advertisement in this year’s JBBA promotional catalog. Without such generous people like y’all our junior organization would not be where it is today!. I thank each and everyone of you on behalf of all Junior Beefmaster members!

JBBA A.I. Program Rules

1. JBBA members may contact BBU members from March 1 - May 1, 2022 and purchase semen on bulls nominated from BBU breeders at a cost of $25 per straw of semen.

2. BBU members (owner of nominated bull) are allowed to limit the number of straws of semen a JBBA member is allowed to purchase on each bull.

3. If a breeder limits the number of straws of semen they are willing to sell to JBBA members on a particular bull, once that number of straws are sold, the breeder does not have to sell any more semen to a JBBA member at a discounted rate of $25/straw.

4. Enclosed is a list of nominated bulls by BBU members for the JBBA A.I. Program.

5. Semen purchased through the JBBA A.I. Program by junior members is intended for the sole use of the purchasing junior only. It is NOT intended to be transferred to JBBA or BBU members, including family.

6. BBU members are responsible for releasing semen to JBBA members once payment has been received and sending in an A.I. Transfer Spreadsheet to the BBU ofce.

7. JBBA members are responsible for all freight costs associated with the semen.

8. Breeders will need to turn in an A.I. Transfer Spreadsheet to the BBU Ofce by June 1st for each bull that is nominated with each JBBA member’s information.

The Junior Beefmaster Breeders Association A.I. Program allows junior members to purchase high quality Beefmaster genetics at an afordable cost while improving and building their Beefmaster herd. Ultimately, it helps up and coming breeders market the Beefmaster breed in and out of the show ring, while also educating junior members about genetics, EPDs, sire selection traits, networking amongst breeders, etc.

We encourage all JBBA members to contact the breeders that are ofering discounted semen for sale on nominated bulls and visit with them about their bull’s performance, EPDs, calf crops, disposition, etc.
