11th Annual Simmental Production Sale
Saturday, November 6, 2010 • 12:30 p.m. Diamond A Farms • Altamont, Illinois • South of I-70
Fellow Breeders, WELCOME!! To the 2010 edition of the Land of Lincoln Premier Sale in Altamont, IL. Most importantly I would like to say “THANK YOU” for your past support of our sale and the confidence you have shown in this team of breeders is very humbling. We value your opinions and look forward to your camaraderie year around. Hopefully, you will enjoy our sale catalog and decide to join us on the 6th of November at the Diamond A Sale Facility. Eleven years ago when the core members of this breeder group decided to start a annual production sale we knew we had to produce superior pedigreed cattle that will breed on and produce better offspring than themselves. With that we knew they had to be futuristic females that are sound and functional and that can survive in real world scenarios and make money for you our customers. So the question is are we meeting our goals set a mire eleven years ago? As a core member and sale chairman I’m proud to say “yes” because our vision has never altered and the success of you our customer was the number one priority. View the 2010 customer success page here in the catalog and talk with the Lee family about the success they had at the Junior Nationals with their open heifer purchase from 2009. The Colle family of Wisconsin found the winners circle at the Junior Nationals with a cow calf pair that was the result of a bred female purchased out of a past Premier sale. The Grand Champion Cow Calf pair in the junior and open shows at the 2010 Illinois State Fair was an open heifer purchase out of the 6th sale by the Travis Family of Illinois. Thank You for showing our cattle and helping us realize our goals. Best of luck to all as these leading ladies enter your donor pens. Don’t over look this 2010 offering of females, they can be the stars of 2011! Join us on Friday afternoon to sort through the cattle on display in the grass paddocks. Hang out for food, fun and fellowship as the grill will be fired up and supper will be served. As always, DP Sales will be on hand to answer any questions you may have along with the members of the breeder group. We hope to see you on the 5th and 6th. God Bless, If you need assistance in any way, please feel free to contact the owners, Doug Parke, Drew Hatmaker, Land of Lincoln Premier Group Dalton Lundy, Jeremy Ruble, or Jered Shipman. • Here is the trio of daughters out of our foundation female, CRCC Dixie Erica 4033P. We knew In Dew Time would set the stage for a powerful flush that would be second to none. X002, the January daughter, is a big topped, deep ribbed cow prospect that is sure to follow in her mothers footsteps into someone’s donor pen. Kilee enjoyed showing her this summer and all the judges said the same thing “Wow here stands one awesome cow prospect. Her February sister comes to the stage with that unique profile being slightly neater in her shoulder, longer in her neck and broke for any junior to show. She has been on my short list all summer. She has the LOOK!!! Don’t over look the March X032 female. She is the looser made, soft strided female that is sure to impress in 2011. She was weaned a little later and is just now starting to bloom after our super hot summer. You might just want to take a second look at X032 on the 6th.

• We thought the mating of 4033P and Top Flight might just produce something pretty sexy and we were right on. This X007 female will certainly impress you down her top, thru her hip and her bone and leg structure is certainly on target. Be sure to take a second look November 6th.

• Georgia is really feminine and extended throughout. She is one that really catches your eye when you view her from the side, and is sure stout enough from behind. We think she has a tremendous future ahead of her in the showring, and will be even better when you turn her out. X110 also has a very agreeable attitude.

• When you flush one of the top donor cows in our breed to one of the greatest young bulls in the Angus breed, the expectations are very high however over expectation have definitely been answered. We are proud to offer these two heifer for your appraisal. The X1 heifer (Summer Star) is the pretty one. She is more moderate, is balanced and very extended being long bodied and beautiful fronted plus has that extra muscle. X2 is a power and performance heifer. She has exceptional depth, volume, flank and bone and her structural integrity couldn’t be better. She is also very pleasing on the profile. Kenwoods Simmentals is reserving the rights to a flush on X2 within 3 years.

• We are selling choice of these two Encore x Better Half daughters. Here is an offering that will make you money for many years. These Encore daughters are the kind; soft, deep, and soggy with that Angus look. Better Half is so consistent no matter what mating is used. She raised the 2009 record selling bull at the WIU Bull test, and in the 2008 the top carcass bull of all breeds at the Indiana bull test was here Dream On son. You won’t have to worry about which one to pick because they will work for you no matter what market you are wanting to reach.

• This heifer is just an April baby, but she has a big top, huge hip, lots of bone, and style to burn. Janssen breeding on both sides of her pedigree. Her dam is our Ebonys Joy daughter, what a job she did on her first calf. She has a great disposition – what a show heifer she will make!

• Massive and gorgeous best describes Deelite, straight from our donor pen this female is only being offered because our partners have other business interests to attend to and need to disperse the partnership. So take advantage her boys, this is 5105R’s first natural calf and what a female she is, as a heifer she was show by Jacob Schwab to many championships and as a cow she has not let us down, producing well in transplant. • X014 stems from our popular donor cow “Lizzy” who not only produces good show heifers, but her females turn into very good mamma cows. When their showing days are over. This gal possesses a ton of growth and thickness for a February heifer and still maintains a lot of femininity. X014 will be very competitive in the February class next spring.

• This April born Bando 1024 daughter is sure to impress. Here is an ultra feminine half blood that is looking for a young junior showman to be her best bud. Her super disposition is not her only attribute, she possesses awesome rib shape for her age, a long square hip and grows fine jet black hair 24/7, 365 days a year.

• Selling 3 embryos, guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work done by a certified embryologist. We are very excited about this mating of HPF Ms Beautiful and Saugahatchee. We have had some really complete half-blood females out of the Saugahatchee bull and the potential is endless with this mating. Beautiful is a young donor here at Bramlet Simmentals and has already earned her stay with Bramlets Beauty, the 2010 Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes Calf Division Champion, which is a maternal sib to these embryos.

• X004 was certainly appropriately named “Forever A Lady”. This H25 grand daughter is what we hoped the mating of El Capitan to Scott Cowgers donor, Jasmine L25, would produce. This sleek fronted ground sow was built for the future and that is exactly what she will produce “the future”. Her pedigree is deep with breed greats that have produced many champions. She should be headed to our donor pen in 2012, but we have opened our gate wide and are offering the best of the best in pedigree and phenotype at the Premier Sale. X004 has tested clean of all genetic defects. We retain the right to one flush yielding a minimum of 6 transferable embryos at the sellers expense and buyers convenience.

• We are offering a really nice September 2009 Star Power heifer ready for breeding. Her dam was out pick of the heifers at the JDJ dispersal sale a few years ago going back to the Triple C Red Heart cow family. This heifer is moderate, has plenty of bone with a really nice phenotype and will offer many breeding options for her new owner. She is cycling regularly and you should be able to take her home and breed her for any early fall 2011 calf.

• We have been nothing but delighted with our N15 cow’s progeny. In fact, we have had multiple sale offerings from this cow-our 2007 offering went to Groves from Arkansas and the 2009 heifer stayed in Illinois with the Glaenzer family. We have been so impressed with the N15 x Major League matings that we are likely to continue to breed this cow the same way every year. These calves never cease to have tremendous depth and overall dimension. Meanwhile, they are also feminine and have great ease of fleshing. We are pleased to offer her bred to In Dew Time sexed semen for an early January calf. We expect that the resulting calf from this mating will have the show ring presence of many of the other In Dew Time champions. • Bred AI on 3-26-10 to HTP SVF In Dew Time, ASA# 2285555

• Visitors to our farm have been especially fond of this heifer’s classic Star Power features- exceptional hindquarter width, her bold hip structure, and her ample length. Many have commented she should have been shown. Her maternal grandsire, Major League, has consistently produced cows for us that we have appreciated for their ease of fleshing. We have bred her to the outcross bull, Real Value, who is also known as a carcass bull. We have been thrilled with all of our Real Value calves for their maternal phenotype as well. This mating is projected to excel especially in the Marb (0.51), and API (114) EPDs. She is due to calve at the beginning of April. • Bred AI on 6-27-10 to Real Value, ASA# 2340425
