CORNERSTONE DAMS

Peak Production Through Genetic Superiority. Building for Generations to Come!

MAINE-ANJOU AND MAINETAINER TOP PRODUCING FEMALES

The American Maine-Anjou Association (AMAA) is proud to recognize the breeding programs that have bred, or now own, these top female genetic packages! The reporting of accurate data in contemporary groups that have meaning is of untold value to the genetic progress of the Maine-Anjou breed. The females represented in the Cornerstone gallery of Gold, Silver and Bronze designations are the “curve benders” of the breed. I would invite you to follow up and visit the breeding operations that measure their progress of genetic advancement.

The listed dams are the 2022 honorees. Each dam listed has met the following criteria:

- Dams must be active, with their most recent calf born after Dec. 31, 2022 with performance data submitted to the AMAA.

- Dams must have first calf between 18 and 30 months of age (584 and 913 days).

- The interval between a dam’s first and second calf must be no more than 410 days.

- Embryo transplant calves are not used in determining calving intervals or average weaning ratios.

- Twins are used in calculating calving intervals, but not average weaning ratios.

- The average weaning ratio of all of the cows’ calves must be at least 104.5.
