Many changes in EPS since 2002 By Patty Miller Kathleen Duncan stepped down from the Edmond School District’s Board of Education Monday, April 5 after serving for 20 years. She first ran for Edmond School District’s Board of Education in 2002. “After 20 years of serving on the school board I felt it was time to promote younger patrons with children currently attending our schools to serve on the board,” Duncan said. Duncan ran for the school board to help address a number of public school issues such as: teacher salaries, campus security, food offerings in the school cafeterias and vending machines, increase Pre AP and AP classes, expand Pre-K and full day kindergarten classes, build new schools and upgrade older facilities, stadiums at all high schools, implement anti-bullying policy and build storm shelters in all the schools. Some of the goals Duncan has

achieved during her 20-year span with the help of other board members include: * The adoption of the Wellness Policy mandating healthier food offerings and the promotion of physical fitness in the district’s schools. * She was also a force in improving the nutritional value of cafeteria
