Luke Benedict, was born in Winchester, Virginia, and began Lunch Out @ Uncle Julio’s…..…..14 his piano studies at age 5. He has played the piano for twelve years and has spent the last two years studying with Rebecca Penneys at Eastman School of Music. Over the past few years, Luke has attended both the Brevard Music Festival and Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival during the summer. In the next few years, Luke will be pursuing a bachelor degree in piano performance at Eastman School of Music, and hopes to improve his mastery of piano technique and interpretation under Professor Penneys. Classical guitarist Collin Holloway began playing at the age of nine in his hometown of Oklahoma City. His passion for the instrument and natural talent were cultivated by Matthew Denman who acted as a teacher and mentor to Collin during his adolescence. Collin's performing experience is extensive for such a young guitarist. He has performed across much of America and Spain both as a soloist and as a part of various ensembles. http://www.epworthvilla.org/events/

Epworth Market Alert! Residents, we have a problem. The Market needs more substitute volunteers. Presently, we have a group of faithful ladies who volunteer four hours of their time (two hours twice a month) and have been doing it for years. However, there are times when we need a sub, such as, when there are extra days in a month or a regular volunteer is ill, has an appointment or is out of town. In order to continue to keep our Market open five days a week, we need to enlarge our sub pool. If you feel you can volunteer an occasional couple of hours a month (1-3PM), please contact Maggie at 405-751-9382. Thank you. 2

SUNDAY SCHOOL SUNDAY, AUGUST 12TH BRILL CHAPEL 9:30 AM GIVING JUSTLY
2 Corinthians 8, 9
Robin Hood Justice The exploits of Robin Hood and his Merry Men in Sherwood Forest have long entertained imaginations. Numerous film versions have been made of the Robin Hood saga, including remakes of the story on an asteroid, among gangsters in Chicago, and in an animated version in which the hero is a talking fox. Central to the Robin Hood legend is his role as a “social bandit” or “heroic outlaw”, as expressed in the description that he “robbed from the rich to give to the poor.” In Robin Hood's world, the rich are wealthy because of severe taxation, exploitative labor practices, and/or downright dishonesty. The poor are hard-working and honest, but suffer poverty because of oppression from the rich. Robin Hood is therefore a hero to the poor (for whom he provides money and goods) and a villain to the rich (from whom he steals). His thievery is justified because of the positive things he does with his stolen wealth. With some allowance for motive (Proverbs 6:30, 31), the Bible never condones stealing. The eighth commandment, “You shall not steal” (Exodus 20:15), is applied consistently. The Scriptures also have harsh words for wealthy people who oppress the poor, which may be a form of stealing (Proverbs 22:16, Amos 5:11, 12; James 2:6,7). Is there a better way to correct economic inequity than to resort to Robin Hood's methods? Is robbing the rich the only way to relieve the poor? Within the church, Paul teaches another way. It neither steals from the rich nor ignores the desperate plight of the poor. This is the subject of this week's lesson. Mona Waymire will lead us in this tough lesson. Come and be blessed with the music of Fretta Moore at the piano at 9:15.
