Divided into three blocks, the book examines, on the one hand, the processes of transformation that are deeply modifying the collective life of the cities. On the other, it devotes a second block to the multiple facets of education understood as the ability allowing people to constantly recreate its way of understanding the world and living in it. Finally, it reviews the history of the International Congresses of Educating Cities since 1990 in order to show the process and evolution of an idea that around 400 cities share. This chapter also has articles by several member cities' mayors. The Secretariat has taken special care in the preparation and contents of this book in which more than 20 different authors have collaborated.
