"Whydidyousummonme?Whatisthisplace,"Persephoneasked.Theboatglidedthroughthemist,andanother templelike buildingonanisland appeared. Huge braziers burned bright oneither side of the stairs that led fromthe water to the beautifullydesignedcomplex.

"Iheardyourcry,child.Ifelthowlostandconfusedyouwereandwantedtoinviteyoutothissecretplace."Thewoman smiledather,andPersephone feltthe ancient,deeppower radiatingoffher "This islandis a refuge for all ofthose like us Welcome,Persephone,totheIslandofLostGoddesses."

Hadesrealizedtoolatethathewasinterruptingsomethingmorethanpaintingnight.ThothandKemasatwithMedusaather hugedeskinheroffice.Thothwasfrowningatthescreens,hisbronzeeyestroubledandhisshoulder-lengthdarkhairamess frompullingonit.

"Let me guess, you're trying to convince himthat digitization of the new library is a good thing," Hades said, smiling despitehisworry.

"Ohh,don'tgetFeathersstarted,"Hermesreplied,appearingbyhisshoulder "Thisisaboutcategorization,notdigitization ItakeitPersephonehasn'tturnedupyet?"

Hadesshookhishead."No.Medusa,Ineedyoutoputapininthisandhelpme."

"It'sgoodtiming.Ineededabreak,"Kemasaid,stretchingherarmsoverherhead.
