Grabbingmyphone,Ituckeditinmybackpocketandwentoutside,settingthejumbo-sizedbowldownforeveryone Ididaquickscantomakesurethedogshadfoodandwater,thenhoppedonmybikeandheadedtowardsthetrails.

Thebreezeonmyfacefeltexhilarating,andIstooduppumpingmypedalshardertowardsthesmall,woodedareathathid thetrailsIlovedexploringon.

Isteeredthefrontwheel,takingaleftandfeelingthechangefrompavementtodirt.Thetrailremindedmeofasidewinder snakewithallthecurvesandIknewafterthefifthcurve,I’ddropintoavalleythatwouldslingshotmeuptheotherside.

Leaves and branches provided protection fromthe sun and created a magical canopy. Out here I felt free. No one else mattered
