Celebrated National Farm to School Month with Farmer's Market Fridays! Served mini sweet peppers from Pero Family Farms; fresh green beans and corn cobettes from R.C. Hatton Farms; local milk from M&B Dairy; and our very own lettuce grown at Island Coast High. The School District of Lee County-Food & Nutrition Services is so incredibly grateful to Dick & Jane Educational Snacks for developing our very own customized Farm to School digital magazine. This is especially fitting as this year’s National Farm to School theme is “Rooted in Community: Growing Stronger, Together.” This digizine is vital in helping us promote awareness of our school gardens and Farm to School initiatives with students, parents, teachers, and administrators, along with the efforts we are making to provide fresh, local produce in our school cafeterias. This educational tool fosters a sense of pride within our schools and deepens the connection between the students and the foods they are consuming. Thank you, Dick & Jane Educational Snacks!
