INCLUSIVE MUSICAL THEATRE
Learning to Dance An inclusive musical theatre school in Clapham The Jack Seager School of Dance was founded in Clapham, London, by its Principal, Jack Seager. The theatre school, which teaches classic dance styles like ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre, is located at the Clapham Youth Centre on Lyham Road, and is currently accepting students between two and sixteen years old. The school boasts an impressive teaching staff: Jack himself has had an extensive career within the industry, from West End performances to The X Factor and pantomimes, as well as Becky O’Brien, a former Britain’s Got Talent finalist who has starred alongside Dame Judy Dench in Mrs. Henderson Presents. Jack opened the school in September 2023 and is enjoying the rapid progress his students are making. His motivation? A safe space for children to learn the art form without feeling pressure to conform. “Witnessing experiences of myself and

other dancers in the industry to conform to a certain standard was really tough,” Jack explains. “I wanted a school that was more inclusive, where talent mattered more than any other attribute, and I’m excited to set a new standard within the dance world.” Jack will be providing opportunities for his students to train professionally, compete in national competitions, and partner with Absolute Unique, a talent agency run by Katie Guyton. The Jack Seager School of Dance is offering free trial lessons for all prospective students.
