TELLING YOUR STORY: BEING A CASE STUDY FOR GET INTO TEACHING


WHY DO WE USE TEACHER CASE STUDIES? The Get Into Teaching campaign always strives to feature serving teachers in PR materials and social media activity to help highlight teaching as a rewarding and exciting career, for graduates and career changers. Teachers who are passionate about their role can make great case studies in the media, offering real insights into life in the classroom for people considering their next steps. Are you proud of the work you do, and would you like to inspire others into a teaching career too? If yes, then you’re exactly what we’re looking for! Being a case study is voluntary - many of our existing case study teachers support us on an ad-hoc basis and there is no ongoing commitment. They find it an interesting and worthwhile experience as positive media coverage can benefit the individual, their school and the general profile of teaching as a career. Being a case study typically involves: • Telling our PR agency your story - the reasons why you chose to teach, what motivates you, why you’re so passionate about teaching etc. • Providing a written quote or there may be opportunities for local or national media interviews – all carefully managed by our PR agency and subject to your interest and availability.


WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT & HOW IT WORKS? As much or as little as you like! If you’d like to become a teacher case study, we’ll set up a call with you (approx. 30mins) to give you more background on the campaign and run through a short Q&A to find out more about you. We’ll also ask you to share a head and shoulders photograph of yourself for potential media use if you’d like to proceed. We’ll then get in touch when suitable PR opportunities arise. Typically, our existing case study teachers support with activity up to 3 times per year. We’ll always check with you before putting you forward for a media opportunity on a caseby-case basis. Ahead of any media interviews, we’ll run through a briefing with you to ensure you’re prepared and comfortable with the opportunity.
