UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS The University of Kansas (KU) is an exciting place to be a student. Strong academic programs, colorful traditions, moderate cost, and a beautiful location make for an unbeatable combination. The KU Office of International Undergraduate Admissions offers several types of merit-based scholarships exclusively for new international students studying for bachelor's degrees. Amounts vary from full tuition awards valued at $22,000 to scholarships of $4,000 per year. Awards are renewable up to 4 years, through the completion of a bachelor’s degree. CITY UNIVERSITY OF SEATTLE TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS We're in touch every day with people from all walks of life, all over the world. With thousands of international students attending locations in the U.S., Canada, Australia, China, Mexico, Greece, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, CityU is truly a global university. City University of Seattle is making available 20 tuition scholarships each year in the amount of $3,000 to new applicants from outside of the U.S. who have never applied to or attended CityU (i.e. students who list their present address as an address outside of the U.S. and who receive an 'initial attendance' I-20 for a new entry into the U.S.). Students who are conditionally admitted to an academic program qualify; however, the tuition discount can only be applied towards academic classes (and not ESL classes). SEMESTER AT SEA OFFERS VOYAGE PROJECT AND SCHOLARSHIPS Semester at Sea, in partnership with the Unreasonable Institute, is launching the “Unreasonable at Sea” project on the Spring 2013 voyage. Unreasonable at Sea is an international accelerator for tech entrepreneurs that will enable Semester at Sea students to study entrepreneurship while tackling the world’s most pressing issues with those who are actually doing the work. Participants will have the opportunity to sail, work, and learn from some of the world’s most renowned innovators and mentors. Semester at Sea will offer a limited number of scholarships, up to $10,000, to students selected as Unreasonable Scholars. Scholars, who will be expected to prepare extensive research in advance of the voyage, will work with the Unreasonable at Sea entrepreneurs and staff to plan, coordinate, and attend activities in the field and facilitate discussions. UNIVERSITY OF HARTFORD OFFERS BLENDED MBA PROGRAM Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford offers a blended program, allowing students to finish courses online. This approach to learning provides a flexible schedule and other time-saving options. It also makes it easier than ever to earn an MBA at your own pace and place. LOYOLA UNIVERSITY NEW ORLEANS INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM IS NOW OPEN The Loyola Intensive English Program (LIEP), part of Loyola University New Orleans, is happy to announce that it is taking applications! You may have heard that it shut down after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but it reopened in 2009 and has since received students from over all over the world to study intermediate- and advanced-level English. Classes at LIEP are small, and in addition to 20 hours per week of classroom study, students receive two hours a week of individual tutoring. It also offers a Pilot Program where students are conditionally admitted to Loyola University. Students in this program earn up to 6 hours of university elective credit from 2 LIEP classes and 6 hours from two other academic classes. The Pilot Program provides students with the language skills, the cultural knowledge, and the study skills necessary for success in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
