This course focuses on the two-body orbital initial-value and boundary-value problems with applications to space vehicle navigation and guidance for lunar and planetary missions Through this Astrodynamics Course, you will understand the principles of astrodynamics including powered ight and midcourse maneuvers. Some of our other topics include celestial mechanics, Kepler’s problem, Lambert’s problem, orbit determination, multi-body methods, mission planning, and recursive algorithms for space navigation. This includes Apollo, space shuttle and Mars exploration in detail.
Assessment This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer needs to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
