East Dunbartonshire Public Partnership Forum Winter Newsletter 2015
Scottish Government Consultations The East Dunbartonshire Health & Social Care Partnership Integration Scheme (Consultative Draft – December 2015) On the 22nd of January 2015 East Dunbartonshire Public Partnership Forum (PPF) held a consultation event on the integration of Adult Health & Social Care in East Dunbartonshire. This was the third integration consultation event that the PPF have consulted on and responded to on this subject. In actual fact it was in May 2012 when the then health secretary Nicola Sturgeon on a planned visit to East Dunbartonshire announced the start of the consultation on Adult Health & Social Care Integration. The PPF were the very first health participation group in Scotland to hold a public engagement consultation on this subject as they were aware that they alone did not hold the views of all NHS and Social Care service users across East Dunbartonshire. East Dunbartonshire CHP and East Dunbartonshire Council actively supported this consultation, with both organisations providing key note addresses and full participation within the event. This was followed up with a second event in August 2014 (The Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014).
These three events attracted a combined attendance of over 150 members of the public, service users and third sector organisations in and around East Dunbartonshire. To find out more information and/or to receive a copy of East Dunbartonshire PPF’s responses, please contact; East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action (EDVA), on 0141 578 6680 or info@edva.org

The new campus is built on the site of the old Southern General in Govan in the south west of the city. It will house a new 1,109-bed adult hospital and a 256-bed children's hospital. There will also be two major A&E departments - one for adults and one for children - a maternity hospital and state-of-the-art laboratory services. Every patient in the general wards in the 14-floor hospital will have their own single room with an en-suite and views out across the campus. In addition to replacing adult hospitals in Glasgow, the new South Glasgow University Hospital will incorporate a new teaching and learning facility and the Centre for Stratified Medicine and clinical research facilities.
