The city in flux brief was our first major brief at university. To begin the project we began by looking at what a ‘City in Flux’ ment to us. Although I had a number of ideas I decided, after some development, that I would show the some of the unique icon heritage that Sheffield has to offer.
I then decided to follow this to show the decay that the heritage of Sheffield is in and well as providing the whole peice with ‘the steel heart of sheffield’ to connote that no matter what sate of decay the city is in. It will always have it’s heritage.

If I were to complete this assignment again I think that I would begin to experiment more with what the current city has to offer, I also think that I would try to show some positive elements to the city.
Overall considering that this project was my first really open brief I think that it went extreamly well. However I would like to try to improve my final peice before the end of this summer.

Key Development
This is my earth artiface project as you can see I decided to go down a physical route for my designs - although the project is not quite 100% i feel as though it is nearly there. To complete this design I would like to take it through a lasercutter to see a neat final peice however, I have been unable to do this at this moment in time. Once I started with this peice I started to really enjoy it, even after my slow start. My aim with this brief was to show the earth as a structural artifact of itself. Although I experimented with a number of ideas once completed the 3D version will be my favourite.
