Extraction - Implantation - Immediate fixed bridge

SKY fast & fixed Fixed bridges for immediate restorations

The fear of numerous patients of temporary absence of teeth is one of the main reasons to refuse implant placement. Prolonged healing times and fear of complications may delay patient decisions for a therapy based on implant placement. SKY fast & fixed enables you to offer patients a proven surgical & prosthetic therapy so that the patient is able to receive a fixed therapeutic bridge on the same day. This type of restoration which can be completed quickly and at an affordable price will not only convince patients who can not do without functional and esthetic restorations due to their positions in public life. With SKY fast & fixed bredent medical offers a prosthetic and surgical system solution: • Immediate restoration Suitable and carefully matched abutments for a fast and standardized procedure, both for surgery and prosthetics. Treatment time in the dental practice is reduced. • Use of local bone areas Thanks to the possibility of angular placement of implants, the local bone can be made optimal use of and complex surgery including augmentation procedures can be avoided so that the costs of surgery and the risk of complications are reduced. Additionally, healing times for patients are

considerably shortened. • The bredent symbiosis Matched consumables ensure trouble- free and fast workflow in the laboratory. Veneers of the visio.lign system enable the technician to achieve a good esthetic result when fabricating the fixed temporary bridge. The patient will leave your practice with fixed and esthetically pleasing teeth.

Advantages: Scientific studies have shown that implants placed in the local bone have a higher survival rate than augmented implants. Long-term success of your therapy can be achieved more easily. Enhanced posterior support of the fixed restoration by the angled implants ensures long-term success of the implant restoration. Abutments are integrated into implants during surgery. No additional surgery is required so that treatment costs are reduced and treatment itself is gentle on the patient. Extensive exposure surgery is avoided. Bone loss caused by the micro-gap is reduced since implants are practically rendered into single-component implants thanks to immediate integration of the abutments.

Surgery

Standardization for success*

The surgical procedure required for SKY fast & fixed is based on standardized steps. Surgical planning is carried out based on the precise analysis of the anatomical conditions. After extracting teeth that cannot be preserved, inflammatory tissue is carefully removed and the bone is leveled. The nerve is exposed in the lower jaw. The central implants are placed starting from the middle of the ridge (see fig. 2 and 3). The distance to the emergence point (approx. 20 to 30 mm) of the angled implants is determined with the angulation aid. When preparing the cavity, the leg of the angulation aid is used for orientation. After the insertion of the implants, the 0째, 17.5째 and 35째 abutments are inserted according to the inclination and the impression copings are screwed on during surgery. Then the suture is closed. A monophase impression is taken on the level of the abutments using a closed tray. The gingiva formers avoid covering by the swelling soft tissue. A mushbite is prepared to determine the jaw relation.

Prosthetic solutions for all cases

Enjoy unlimited flexibility With the new SKY fast & fixed Abutments with horizontal circumferential groove, you have all options when fabricating screw-retained prosthetic restorations: • Occlusal or transversal screw retention with only one abutment! The long-term temporary restoration can be first screwed from the occlusal and the definitive restoration from the transversal direction, for example. The new SKY fast & fixed Abutment offers you unlimited flexibility. • Perfectly suited for the following substructure materials: Titanium, NPM, gold, zirconium dioxide and BioHPP. • Passive fit is always achieved independent of the material since the substructure is bonded/luted in situ. Self-centering transversal screw retention The transversal screw retention is a bolting principle. The thread for the bolt screw is located in the bridge framework. The bolt screw (A) and the cylindrical surfaces (B and C) form a compact unit. The prosthetic coping is fixed by triple point attachment with the bolt screw (A) and the cylindrical surfaces (B and C) to avoid tilting. At the same time, the short cylindrical surfaces ensure that the coping is selfcentered (passive fit) when it is placed on. Thanks to the slightly inclined position of the bolt screw, the prosthetic coping is pressed on the abutment platform and gap formation is avoided when it is tightened.

Simple use A click that can be easily heard and felt indicates reliable fit when the framework is attached or removed. Reliable retention thanks to passive fit. The construction enables the user to remove and reposition the restoration in a way to avoid removal of the bolt screw from the framework which reduces the risk of swallowing the bolt screws significantly. The design also guarantees fast and simple removal and insertion of the restoration.

Improved prosthetic copings Within the scope of our ongoing market analysis, we have optimized the prosthetic copings. In the cervical area they have a short cylindrical section with an index to be used as a basis of the temporary restoration. When fabricating the definitive restoration, the cylindrical section can be easily customized to be able to achieve better esthetic results.

Improved SKY fast & fixed laboratory analog In the coronal area, the SKY fast & fixed laboratory analog features the same shape as the SKY fast & fixed Abutments to facilitate impression taking and model fabrication considerably. The SKY fast & fixed laboratory analog can be repositioned more easily and safely now even if the impression material extends beyond the abutment margin.

SKY Locator 17.5° and 35°, angled The LocatorŽ concept is another highlight of the SKY implant system and used for implants placed at an angle. This proven method ensures that removable restorations can now be safely and easily placed on implants inserted at an angle .

Prosthetics

Fast and simple = appealing and fixed

A key aspect of SKY fast & fixed is the simple and reliable fabrication of the fixed therapeutic bridge. In combination with bredent visio. lign veneers, dental technicians are enabled to fabricate appealing temporary restorations in a way to avoid timeconsuming and complex preparatory work. After model fabrication and mounting in the articulator, the wax setup is done using the visio.lign veneers. Thanks to the design of the veneers, very little manual reworking is required. The setup is transferred to a matrix. The bridge body is completed after conditioning the veneers. When fabricating the bridge, a spacer ensures that only one prosthetic coping is integrated while the other copings are polmyerized in situ in a way to avoid stress. Then final polishing is carried out in the laboratory. The patient leaves the practice on the day of surgery with a fixed and esthetically pleasing bridge and can immediately participate in social life without any limitations.

Making optimal use of the local bone

The maxillary sinus frequently limits the possibitilies for implant placement in the upper posterior region. Thanks to the blueSKY implants that are inserted in an angled position along the sinus, the terminal abutment is distalized in the region of the first molar and hence allows a perfectly supported bridge restoration. As a result, complex ridge augmentation can be avoided and surgery is less invasive. The risk of complications is minimized and costs for the patient are reduced. Healing times are considerably shortened and the patient will receive his final prosthetic restoration much earlier. In patients who have been edentulous over a longer period, residual mandibular bone height above the mandibular channels is frequently insufficient for placement of implants with a sufficient length. Consequently, the implant positions are limited to the area between the foramina mentalis. The "classic" removable restorations with implants in regions 2 and 4 are selected. By making use of the local bone, SKY fast & fixed allows to obtain a statically more favorable position of the abutments.

Preconditions for the successful use: Experienced implantologist Flexible and skilled dental technician who can quickly adapt to the respective situation

SKY fast & fixed is a highly attractive product for our practice since it allows to standardize the work processes and facilitates after-treatment considerably because the fixed bridge avoids the formation of pressure spots which may cause non-scheduled patient visits. Moreover we have found out that patients take more time to receive the definitive restoration but also prefer restorations with a higher quality.

Dr. Steffen Kistler, Dr. Frank Kistler, Dr. Georg Bayer

The fabrication of a fixed bridge within a short time is a challenge for all dental technicians which can be met by standardization and the use of modern materials and techniques. A standard routine can be obtained after a limited number of restorations, which also provides room for details. Stephan Adler
