West Edmonton Mall Why you should visit West Edmonton Mall this summer West Edmonton Mall is the perfect getaway for both locals and tourists alike. No matter one’s age or interests, North America’s largest shopping and entertainment centre has something for everyone. Here are just a few of the reasons why West Edmonton Mall should be your holiday destination.

You can enjoy a temperature of 28˚ C every day and defy gravity at World Waterpark. Summer is about sunshine, warmth, water, and adventure . . . and World Waterpark offers it all! Located within West Edmonton Mall, World Waterpark is a five-acre tropical paradise not just during the summer but every day of the year. Thrill seekers will love the park’s newest slides— especially Cyclone, a one-of-a-kind waterslide featuring an electronic launch system and near-vertical loop. If you’re not an adrenaline junkie, don’t worry. World Waterpark boasts more than 17 unique waterslides and attractions, including the world’s largest indoor wave pool.

You can shop at more than 800 stores and services. As North America’s largest shopping and entertainment centre continues to freshen its appearance inside and out, bringing a chic, modern design to all 5.3 million square feet, West Edmonton Mall also continues to enhance its offerings, further establishing itself as Canada’s most complete shopping destination. The recent additions of True Religion and Kiehl’s, and the imminent arrival of J.Crew, Simons, Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma, along with Camper, Dr. Martens, Lolë, and The North Face, to an already dynamic mix of coveted and exclusive brands ensures a shopping experience like no other.

You can swim with a sea lion and become a trainer for the day. Alberta might be a landlocked province and Edmonton a prairie city, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get into salt water with a sea lion or spend a day learning about and interacting with penguins, sting rays, sea turtles, reptiles, and other animals. West Edmonton Mall Marine Life offers both Swim with a Sea Lion and Trainer for the Day programs, both guaranteed to be rewarding, one-of-a-kind experiences. Marine Life also offers group activities and staff members are always in Sea Life Caverns giving presentations about the animals that call West Edmonton Mall home.

You can see or participate in exciting and unique events and maybe see a celebrity. West Edmonton Mall is an entertainment venue. With stages, large common areas, an Ice Palace that does double-time as a field or gymnasium and concert hall—and the world’s largest parking lot —there is always something happening. It could be a school or community band performance, an international taekwondo championship or dance competition, hockey tournament, celebrity autograph signing or major mini concert . . . West Edmonton Mall has hosted them all. Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, the stars of Twilight, Gordon Ramsay, and Selena Gomez are among celebrities that have interacted with Mall guests. And there are others who have stopped here while in Edmonton, such as Justin Bieber, Steven Tyler, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie . . .
