Maywood Studio is excited to announce our newest designer!
Lydia Johnson is ceramic artist based in Bolton, Connecticut. While being a dedicated stay-at-home mom to her young son, she passionately balances time between her small business and assisting in her husband’s antique automotive restoration shop. Her colorful and meticulous work, constructed with thin, printed clay slabs, is inspired by her love of visual pattern and color found in home textiles and decor.
Her work has found homes in collections across the globe. Over the past 10 years, she has exhibited nationally and internationally and has taught workshops at renowned craft schools. When she is not in the studio, you can find her working in her garden, cooking up something delicious, or entertaining the family’s two rambunctious, black and white cats, Benny & Oreo.
Lydia’s first Maywood Studio collection will debut Spring 2024 and will ship to shops Fall 2024

Maywood Studio Designer Spotlight
Many were introduced to Kris Lammers’ special brand of illustration though her work with the Gooseberry Patch cookbook series. A life-long artist with a passion for drawing, Kris’ artwork is a unique blend of technically well-crafted design and crisp detail, complimented by softened shapes, sweet imagery and often a touch of humor. When asked about the appeal for her in designing fabric for quilters, Kris answers, “I love quilters...and I love the camaraderie of this centuries old tradition. Strangers can meet in a quilt shop and become instant friends.
Quilters are artists...their creativity amazes me!”
When she’s not drawing or painting, Kris gathers inspiration wherever she can, often while treasure hunting in junk stores for her other creative outlets - refurbishing furniture and refashioning clothing. She also adores spending time with her five grandchildren.

Bonnie has loved crafting and textiles since she was a little girl. Her desire to be a stay-at-home mom lead her to try and make a living doing what she loved. She sold her creations at craft shows and home parties before going back to school to finish a degree. Realizing that her passion was in creating, Bonnie began working with wool and created a line of patterns for wool penny rugs. She made her debut at the International Quilt Market in 2002 with her new business, All Through the Night.
Since then, Bonnie has designed hundreds of patterns, authored several books and, since designing her first Maywood Studio collection in 2003, continues to create charming, well-crafted fabric lines. Bonnie’s flannel collections for Maywood Studio coordinate with her longest-running group, the widely popular Woolies Flannel, now available in 100 colors.
