BLOCK ASSEMBLY
1. Sew D 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” rectangles to opposite sides of (1) C 4-1/2” square. Sew D 2-1/2” x 8-1/2” rectangles to the top and bottom to make (1) UNIT 1A Make (2). In the same way, make (2) UNIT 1B using B 4-1/2“ squares and E rectangles.
2. Sew H 2-1/2” x 8-1/2” rectangles to opposite sides of UNIT 1A. Sew H 2-1/2” x 12-1/2” rectangles to the top and bottom to make (1) BLOCK 1, measures 12-1/2” square. Make (2). In the same way, add G rectangles to UNIT 1B to make (2) BLOCK 2. BLOCK
QUILT ASSEMBLY: Refer to QUILT DIAGRAM for proper placement and rotation.
3. Lay out (2) each BLOCK 1 and BLOCK 2 together into (2) rows of (2). Sew into rows and join the rows to make the quilt center.
BORDER ASSEMBLY: Measure width and length of quilt top to ensure border cutting sizes. Below are our measurements. Refer to QUILT DIAGRAMS for proper placement and rotation.
4. BORDER 1: Sew J 2-1/2” x (24-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew J 2-1/2” x (28-1/2”) strips to the top and bottom.
5. BORDER 2: Sew A 4” x (28-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew E 4” squares to opposite ends of the remaining (2) A 4” x (28-1/2”) strips and sew to the top and bottom.
6. BORDER 3: Sew J 2-1/2” x (35-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew J 2-1/2” x (39-1/2”) strips to the top and bottom.
7. BORDER 4: Sew B 4” x (39-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew B 4” x (46-1/2”) strips to the top and bottom.
8. BORDER 5: Sew J 1-1/2” x (46-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew J 1-1/2” x (48-1/2”) strips to the top and bottom.
9. BORDER 6: Sew A 4” x (48-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew J 4” squares to opposite ends of the remaining (2) A 4” x (48-1/2”) strips and sew to the top and bottom.
10. BORDER 7: Sew G 2” x (55-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew G 2” x (58-1/2”) strips to the top and bottom.
11. BORDER 8: Sew J 1-1/2” x (58-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew J 1-1/2” x (60-1/2”) strips to the top and bottom.
12. OUTER BORDER: Sew F 6-1/2” x (60-1/2”) strips to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew E 6-1/2” squares to opposite ends of the remaining (2) F 6-1/2” x (60-1/2”) strips and sew to the top and bottom.
FINISHING:
Cut batting and backing 3” larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind with J fabric.
