WOF stands for Width of Fabric. RST stands for Right Sides Together. All seams are 1/4”.

Sew Cut
1. Mark a diagonal line on the back side of (64) Background 4 1/4” squares. (Figure 1)
2. Place the marked square RST with a Fabric A 4 1/2” square. (Figure 2)
3. Sew 1/4” away from the marked line on both sides of the marking. (Figure 3)
4. Cut along the marked line. (Figure 4)
5. Press the seams towards the Fabric A piece. Square the block to 3 1/2” square. Each 4 1/4” set will yield (2) HSTs. Make a total of (16) HSTs. (Figure 5)
6. Repeat steps 1 - 5 with Fabrics B - F creating a total of (64) HSTs.
7. Using the graph below and the HST instructions in steps 1 - 5 make (16) HSTs of each pairing.

9. Using the diagram below, sew together the (2) Sections 1s and (2) Sections 2s together as shown.

Border Assembly Instruction
1. Sew a Background 2 1/2” x 36 1/2” strip to the top and the bottom of the quilt top. Press towards the Background strips.
2. Sew a Background 2 1/2“ x 39” strip to a Background 2 1/2” x 10“ strip along their short ends, creating a 2 1/2” x 48 1/2” strip. Make (2) of these strips. Sew one strip to the left and right sides of the quilt top. Press towards the Background strips.
3. Sew a Fabric G 1 1/2” x 40 1/2” strip to the top and the bottom of the quilt top. Press towards the Fabric G strips.
4. Sew a Fabric G 1 1/2” x 39“ strip to a Fabric G 1 1/2” x 14“ strip along their short ends, creating a 1 1/2” x 52 1/2” strip. Make (2) of these strips. Sew one strip to the left and right sides of the quilt top. Press towards the Fabric G strips.
5. Sew a Background 1 1/2” x 39“ strip to a Background 1 1/2” x 6” strip along their short ends, creating a 1 1/2” x 44 1/2” strip. Make (2) of these strips. Sew one strip to the top and bottom sides of the quilt top. Press towards the Fabric G strips.
6. Sew a Background 39” strip to a Background 1 1/2“ x 18” strip along their short ends, creating a 1 1/2” x 56 1/2” strip. Make (2) of these strips. Sew one strip to the left and right sides of the quilt top. Press towards the Fabric G strips.
7. Sew a Fabric B 2 1/2” x 39“ strip to a Fabric B 2 1/2” x 10“ strip along their short ends, creating a 2 1/2” x 48 1/2” strip. Make (2) of these strips. Sew one strip to the top and bottom sides of the quilt top. Press towards the Fabric B strips.
8. Sew a Fabric B 2 1/2” x 39“ strip to a Fabric B 2 1/2” x 21“ strip along their short ends, creating a 2 1/2” x 60 1/2” strip. Make (2) of these strips. Sew one strip to the top and bottom sides of the quilt top. Press towards the Fabric B strips. This completes the quilt top.
