OTHER TOOLS &SUPPLIES -Needle and coordinating thread -Sewing machine -Iron & pressing surface -Rotary cutter and mat -Fabric shears -Straight pins NOTES -For best results, read through all instructions before starting. -Please wash, dry & iron your fabrics before beginning, and trim selvedges. -Unless otherwise indicated, sew all seams with a 1/4” seam allowance. -Press your seams open as you go. -WOF = width of fabric

CUTTING

Panel Cut out each individual “mini” panel. Trim each one to 17-1/2” x 21-1/4”. Fabric A Cut (6) 10-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew two strips together, end to end, and trim to 60-1/2” long. Repeat to make a second 60-1/2” long strip. These will be referred to as the top and bottom borders. Sew one of the leftover strip pieces from the previous step to another 10-1/2” x WOF strip, end to end. Trim to 48” long. Repeat to make a second 48” long strip. These will be referred to as the side borders. Fabric B Cut (14) 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Set 7 strips aside for binding. From (3) of the remaining strips: -Sub-cut (6) 17-1/2” x 2-1/2” rectangles. These will be referred to as the SHORT sashing strips. Sew (3) of the remaining strips together, end to end. Sub-cut (2) 48” long strips. Sew the leftover strip from the previous step to the remaining 2-1/2” x WOF strip. Trim to 48” long. All three 48” long strips will be referred to as the LONG sashing strips.

PIECING (NOTE: refer to the Assembly Layout on p.4 and the cover photo for fabric placement Arrange the panels in the order that you like, or you can follow the layout that is on the cover page. The assembly layout on p.4 shows each panel labeled from A-D. 1. Sew (1) short sashing strip to the top of each panel. 2. Sew the following panels together from top to bottom, as shown.

3. Sew (1) short sashing strip to the bottom of each unit created in Step 2.

4. Sew (1) long sashing strip to the left hand side of unit 1 and one to the right. 5. Sew (1) long sashing strip to the right hand side of unit 2. 6. Sew the two units together from left to right.

7. Sew (1) side border to either side of the unit created in Step 6.

8. Sew the top and bottom borders to the unit created in Step 7. This completes the quilt top.

FINISHING 9. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Baste and quilt as desired. 10. Sew the Fabric B binding strips together end-to-end and press seams open. Bind the quilt using your favorite method.
