1. Print the Triangle Flag Template (pp 2-3) at 100% of actual size and tape the two pieces together, lining up the black arrows. Trace it (1) time onto a folded double layer of each different fabric, Right Sides together. Make sure that the fabrics’ patterns are oriented according to the direction of the flags. Cut out these (5) double-layered flags.

2. Sew each pair of flags, Right Sides together, with a 1/2” seam around the bottom and sides. Leave the top edges open. Clip the bottom corner, press your seams open & turn the flags Right Side out.

3. Topstitch the flags, 1/8” from the sewn edge around all three edges.

4. Cut (2) 7” long pieces of bias tape and topstitch them closed, backstitching at the beginning and end of the seam.

5. Pin (1) flag at the center of the remaining 59” strip of bias so that its top edge is encased in the tape’s fold. Position & pin a flag on either side of the first one in the same manner, with their inner edges against the outer sides of the first. Repeat with the remaining (2) flags.

6. Topstitch along the full length of the 59” bias strip, so its ends are closed and the flags are firmly anchored. Backstitch at the beginning and end of this seam.

7. Stitch a 7” strips of bias to each end of the flag banner, 7” from the end of the long piece of tape. This will give you a double-strand tie at either end of the banner.
