Cutting Instructions:
Please read all instructions carefully before beginning. Strips are cut across the width of fabric WOF (perpendicular to selvedges) unless otherwise stated. All seams are sewn with 1/4" seam unless otherwise stated. Label all pieces.
Fabric A:
• Cut (9) 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" squares fussy cut around the motif
Fabric B:
• Cut (2) 3 3/8" x WOF strips; cut (16) 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" squares
Fabric C:
• Cut (6) 2 1/4" x WOF; sew together end to end to make 240" continuous binding
Fabric D, E, F, G, H, and I:
• Cut (6) 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares
Fabric J:
• Cut (14) 2 7/8" x WOF strips; cut (176) 2 7/8" x 2 7/8". Sub cut (32) on the diagonal to make (64) triangles
• Cut (6) 2 1/2" x WOF strips; Sew together end to end and cut (2) 2 1/2" x 52 1/2" borders and (2) 2 1/2" x 56 1/2" borders
Piecing Instructions:
Note: Press seams as directed by arrows or instructions
1. Draw a diagonal line on the back side of (144) Fabric J 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” squares. Place (1) Fabric D 5 1/4" square right side up . Place (2) Fabric J 2 7/8" squares right side down in opposite corners, overlapping in the center as shown. Stitch 1/4" from either side of the line, cut apart on the drawn line. Press towards Fabric J to make (2) A Units.
2. Pin (1) Fabric J 2 7/8" in the corner of each A Unit as shown. Stitch 1/4" on either side of the drawn line. Cut apart on the line and press towards Fabric J, to make (4) Flying Geese Units. Trim to square to 2 1/2" x 4 1/2". Repeat for Fabric D-I to make (24) of each.
3. Sew (6) Flying Geese Units, one of each fabric, together as shown to make a Sash Block. Make 24 Sash blocks 4 1/2" x 12 1/2".
4. Sew a pair of Fabric J 2 7/8" triangles to opposite sides of a Fabric B 3 3/8" square. Press towards Fabric J, then sew a second pair of Fabric J 2 7/8" triangles to the remaining sides of the Fabric B square. Press towards Fabric B, trim and square to 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" to make a Cornerstone Block. Make (16).
5. Sew (4) Cornerstone Blocks and (3) Sash blocks together as shown to make a Long Sash. Make (4). Pay close attention to the direction of the flying geese units within the blocks.

Finishing:
1. Prepare backing with two 64” width of fabric pieces with horizontal seam. Press seam.
2. Layer quilt, batting and backing. Baste layers together and quilt as desired.
3. Trim layers even with quilt top squaring corners.
4. Fold the Fabric C binding strip wrong sides together; press. Sew binding to the quilt using your preferred method.

6. Sew the Fabric A 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" squares, remaining Sash Blocks, and Long Sashes together into the quilt center, paying close attention to the direction of the geese units in each. Sew the Fabric J 2 1/2" x 52 1/2" borders to the sides of the quilt center, and the 2 1/2" x 56 1/2" borders to the top and bottom.
