Note: for (4) of the pieces, make sure that the direction of the print is oriented sideways towards the left and the diagonal line is drawn from the upper left corner to the lower right. For the reamining (4) pieces, the print is oriented sideways towards the right and the diagonal line is drawn from the upper right corner to the lower left.

2. Place (1) piece (g) on the lower left hand corner of pieces (i), (j) & (k), Right Sides Facing. Note the direction of the diagonal line. You are using the first (4) squares that you marked in Step 1. Sew along the diagonal line.

3. Trim the excess fabric 1/4” outside of the stitch line and press the seam open.

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 with the second set of squares, this time sewing them to the bottom right-hand corner of the pieces (i), (j) & (k).

5. Stitch the 4 rectangles together while inserting one piece (d) in between each of the rectangles.

6. Stitch one piece (c)on either side.

7. Sew one piece (h) to the top of the piece (l) and another to the bottom as shown.

8. Take the piece created in Step 6 and make a cut 5-1/2”down from the top.

This completes the quilt top.
