NOTES

-For best results, read through all instructions before starting.

-Please wash, dry & iron your fabrics before beginning, and trim selvedges.

-Unless otherwise indicated, sew all seams with a 1/4” seam allowance.

-Press your seams open as you go.

-WOF = width of fabric

CUTTING

Fabric A

Trim panel to 33-3/4” x 42 1/2”. This will be referred to as piece (a).

Fabric B

Cut (17) 2-1/4” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and

Sub-cut:

-(1) 58-3/4” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-1)

-(1) 69-1/4” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-2)

-(1) 60-1/2” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-3)

-(1) 71” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-4)

-(1) 49-1/4” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-5)

-(1) 59-3/4” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-6)

-(1) 51” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-7)

-(1) 61-1/2” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-8)

-(1) 39-3/4” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-9)

-(1) 50-1/4” x 2-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (b-10)

Cut (4) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and

Sub-cut:

-(1) 77” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (c-1)

-(1) 62-1/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (c-2)

Fabric D

Cut (4) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and

Sub-cut:

-(1) 74” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (d-1)

-(1) 65-1/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (d-2)

Fabric E

Cut (3) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and Sub-cut:

-(1) 67-3/4” x 3-1/4” strip. This will be referred to as piece (e-1) -(1) 52-3/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (e-2)

Fabric F

Cut (3) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and Sub-cut:

-(1) 64-1/2” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (f-1) -(1) 55-3/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (f-2)

Fabric G

Cut (3) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and Sub-cut:

-(1) 58” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (g-1) -(1) 43-1/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (g-2)

Fabric H

Cut (3) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and

Sub-cut:

-(1) 55” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (h-1)

-(1) 46-1/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (h-2)

Fabric I

Cut (2) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and

Sub-cut:

-(1) 48-1/2” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (i-1)

-(1) 33-3/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (i-2)

Fabric J

Cut (2) 3-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew these strips together end to end, on the short end, press seams open, and

Sub-cut:

-(1) 45-1/2” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (j-1)

-(1) 36-3/4” x 3-1/2” strip. This will be referred to as piece (j-2)

Fabric K - Binding

Cut (8) 2-1/2” x WOF strips.

Backing

Farbic Cut (2) 87” x WOF strips.

PIECING (NOTE: refer to the Assembly Layout below and on page 5 for fabric placement.)

1. Sew piece (i-2) to the bottom of piece (a).

2. Sew piece (j-1) to the left of the unit created in Step 1.

3. Sew piece (j-2) to the top of the unit created in Step 2.

4. Sew piece (i-1) to the right of the unit created in Step 3.

5. Continue to add strips in a counter-clockwise direction in the following order : (b-9), (b-10), (b-11), (b-12), (g-2), (h-1), (h-2), (g-1), (b-5), (b-6), (b-7), (b-8), (e-2), (f-1), (f-2), (e-1), (b-1), (b-2), (b-3), (b-4), (c-2), (d-1), (d-2), (c-1).

(NOTE: if working with directional prints, please refer to the cover photo for proper orientation)

This completes the quilt top.

FINISHING

6. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing. Baste and quilt as desired.

7. Sew (8) of the Fabric K binding strips together end-to-end and press seams open. Bind the quilt using your favorite method.
