SERENITY BLOOMS

Asophisticatedandgentle, fabriccollection,perfectfor quiltingandcreativesewing projects

Designed by Canadian artist, Ginger Deverell, Serenity Blooms was inspired by her wild gardens, and tells the story of serenity amidst winged creatures and blooms. You’ll feel the stillness and reflection that comes from sitting in a garden meadow, vitality blossoming all around you, the joy of listening to bird songs, and the bliss of sowing seeds for future growth.

FABRIC STORY

Ginger designs fabric because she loves everyday beauty that gets passed down and reused— collecting memories along the way. She grew up with a sewing machine whirring in the background. She remembers using scraps to make doll clothes as a child and altered fashion to express herself in her twenties. Now, as a mom and artist, the sewing machine is whirring again. Her love for the stories that live in fabrics inspired her to become a fabric designer so she could create beautiful patterns for all the sewers and makers.

As a child, Ginger lived in the country. She spent her days wandering through her mom ’ s giant flower gardens and tucking under a tree to make things with her hands. The flora and fauna that surrounded her in these moments, and in her own garden where she paints today, have become themes of her artwork as a pattern designer, and are particularly celebrated in her Serenity Blooms collection.

GINGER DEVERELL

VANCOUVER, CANADA

Ginger loves wonder and wildness and all things delicate and pretty. She is a surface designer and illustrator known for her ethereal and whimsical style and her soft, dreamy colour palettes recently featured in Uppercase and In Her Studio magazines. Her art has been licensed for stationery, gifts, fabric and décor in Europe, Canada and USA, and she also enjoys freelance projects and commissions.

For Ginger, inspiration comes from flora and fauna, vintage and bohemian aesthetics, Eastern cultures and childlike wonder. She works from her bright attic studio in her early 1900s home on the outskirts of Vancouver, Canada, surrounded by fabric swatches and paper products, ornate treasures and bits of nature. Beyond her studio, Ginger adores travelling abroad, sewing with her mom ’ s 1940s Piedmont, and reading and cooking with her son. See Ginger’s creative world on Instagram @gingerdeverell.
