AI concentration allows students to specialize in a scientific area of interest such as Internet of Things, Smart Cities, Big Data, Visualization of Scientific data, and Robotics.
CS concentration prepares the students with the skills to investigate the vulnerability of hardware and software as well as the measures for protecting against security threats.

Due to the domination of communication, modern electronics, information processing, and the internet, electrical and computer engineers are able to influence all facets of modern life. Indeed, they are the driving force behind the progress of technology, and can therefore help to positively impact the quality of our lives.
The Program of Electrical and Computer Engineering will continue to lead in educating qualified engineers who combine the highest level of technical competency and research with creativity, innovation and leadership skills necessary for contributing to technological advancements locally and globally.
As a student on the ECE Program you’ll learn how to apply hardware and software skills for the design and development of modern systems, preparing you to take your place as an integral part of today’s engineering world.
Effat’s ECE Program will introduce you to key computer engineering topics, including computer hardware design, computer networks and software engineering, alongside electrical engineering topics such as communications and signal processing, microelectronics and integrated circuits, wireless communications, microwave electronics, computer-aided design, control systems, robotics and electromagnetism.
You’ll have the opportunity to focus on one of four concentrations:
• Computer Engineering
• Communications and Signal Processing
• Microelectronics
• Power and Control systems
Computer Engineering
Studying Boolean algebra, combinational and sequential logic design, digital integrated circuits, programmable logic devices, computer design, and microprocessor hardware and software.
This rapidly growing field is concerned with processing signals and finding the best way to transmit and receive voice, picture, or computer data signals.
Microelectronics
Electronic devices are the building blocks of most computers and electrical systems, including telephones, radios, television, controllers, oscilloscopes, logic gates, memories, digital systems, computers, power circuits, and instrumentation systems. Designers and engineers in this field conceive and design these building blocks, while engineers in other areas develop systems using them.
Applications-oriented and based on state-of-the-art electrical and electronic equipment associated with electrical power and control systems. Topics in power engineering deal with the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electricity, as well as the design of a range of related devices. Control engineering concerns the study of a diverse range of dynamic systems and the design of controllers that will cause these systems to behave in the desired manner.
The overall program objectives are:
• To enable you to contribute to the development of products and processes in electrical and computer engineering and related fields that help satisfy various demands of the society.
• To allow you to demonstrate continuous professional and career growth.
• To nurture high ethical and responsibility values.
• To encourage you to pursue your professional development through self-learning and advanced degrees.
