Literacy in the Digital Age This first session looks at why digital literacy is so important and how literacy can be defined in the Digital Age. We ask the question “What is digital literacy?” We aim at establishing not only a broad definition of digital literacy, but also a narrower definition which will enable us to focus our attention on its impact on educational reform. A set of technical and cognitive skills necessary for digital literacy will be defined, the practical applications of which will be explored in Day 2 of the conference. Speaker 1: Shameema Parveen, Co-Founder and Knowledge Officer, Edutech Middle East (Dubai) Learning for the Unknown Future Speaker 2: Dr. Houria Oudghiri, Computer Science Department Chair, Effat College Digital Literacy Assessments
