IPAA NSW STRATEGIC PLAN

ABOUT IPAA NSW

This strategic plan outlines the overarching vision and strategy for the organisation for the period 20182021. IPAA’s strategic plan provides a roadmap for the future. Our plan articulates the organisation’s priorities and considers trends, issues and future demands.

IPAA NSW is the not-for-profit professional association for people who work in or with the public sector.

Our plan has been developed following consultation with IPAA’s members as well as the broader public sector community. Input was sought from the IPAA NSW Council, the Programming Advisory Committee, the Young Professionals Network and the Audit and Risk Committee. A workshop was also held with staff to capture their insights. This consultation was conducted to ensure that IPAA NSW’s strategic plan belongs to the members and customers that the organisation serves and reflects their priorities and future aspirations. The plan outlines the steps we will take to build the capabilities and connectiveness of our members and support the development of the NSW public sector. IPAA NSW’s principles, values and behaviours are key enablers of this strategic plan. Our values are accountability, collaboration, integrity and innovation. If you have ideas or would like to become involved further, I invite you to speak with Madeleine Culbert, IPAA NSW Chief Executive Officer. Whether you are new to IPAA NSW or one of our many long term supporters, we look forward to working with you over the next three years as we implement this plan.

Our members include staff from all current NSW Clusters, the NSW Public Service Commission, a range of agencies and individual members. We have more than 3,000 members and deliver services directly to a community of more than 12,000 customers across the NSW public sector. IPAA NSW facilitates high quality public administration and capability development across the public sector. We have strong partnerships with universities, training organisations and private sector organisations with specific public sector focused expertise. Our organisation is a major provider of events and learning services to the NSW public sector and delivers programs that respond to the rapidly changing business environment and capability needs of the sector. We have an established reputation as a curator of knowledge and are recognised as an important source of thought leadership and information for the community we serve. IPAA NSW is governed by an elected Council consisting of senior leaders from across the NSW public sector, led by a NSW Cluster secretary. We offer a wide range of opportunities for members to be involved in our governance.
