‘Europe’s Manufacturing industry CEOs call upon heads of state to streamline 2030 strategy toward growth and jobs’ On 27th February 2014, IFIEC Europe organized a Press Conference for the official release of their new Manifesto to call upon the Heads of State and of Government to put industry competitiveness in terms of energy and climate policies high on the EU agenda. IFIEC Europe represents the interests of industrial energy users in Europe for whom energy is a significant component of production costs and a key factor of competitiveness in their activities in both Europe and throughout the world. ‘Fertilizers Europe is very proud to be part of this manifesto and we back the decision of our 9 member companies to sign this document because these questions are important for the fertilizer industry’ says Jacob Hansen, Director General of Fertilizers Europe. In two weeks, IFIEC gathered more than 100 signatures from CEOs of different EU manufacturing industries to the manifesto. The main demands of this document are: -
Make industrial renaissance the most important objective to move Europe out of the crisis Manufacturing industry needs access to globally competitive energy Climates objectives must be set to keep a high performing industry in Europe
It has been signed so far by 137 CEOs from 24 countries in the EU representing 1 million jobs and 350 billion € in turnover. It has also been signed by 10 supporting associations, including Fertilizers Europe.
