‘Manufacturing industry CEOs call upon heads of state to streamline 2030 strategy’ On 27th February 2014, IFIEC Europe organized a Press Conference and official release of their new Manifesto calling upon Heads of State to put industry competitiveness in terms of energy and climate policies high on the EU agenda. IFIEC Europe represents the interests of industrial energy users in Europe for whom energy is a significant component of production costs and a key factor of competitiveness in their activities in both Europe and throughout the world. ‘Fertilizers Europe is very proud to be part of this manifesto and we back the decision of member companies to sign this document as these questions are important for the fertilizer industry’ says Jacob Hansen, Director General of Fertilizers Europe. IFIEC gathered more than 100 signatures from CEOs from different EU manufacturing industries to the manifesto. It has been signed so far by 137 CEOs from 24 countries in the EU representing 1 million jobs and 350 billion € in turnover. It has also been signed by 10 supporting associations, including Fertilizers Europe. Key points: - Make industrial renaissance the most important objective to move Europe out of the crisis - Manufacturing industry needs access to globally competitive energy - Climate objectives must be set to keep high performing industries in Europe
