What made you start photography? I've always wanted to talk about love, freedom. Photography helps me express my feelings and the energy I have when I'm on the street is ecstatic. I let myself be hugged by the streets, observing, watching, loitering, waiting for the right moment. Life in Istanbul and mainly its streets, contain all the emotions I want to express blended with spices and shadows, history and architecture. The mystagogy of this city lends an almost ritualistic character in photography, especially when the first light is mixed with the morning fog. While walking, you discover amazing spots that the shadings transform into a theatrical set. I like watching and enjoying the city's transformations by the light, a light so special that imparts a unique character in this crammed, impressive city.

What does photography mean to you? To me, the true meaning of photography is just being on the street where real life is. All the people try to get away from the daily routine, especially when you have to spend your day in an office or do a job that you quite possibly don't like. It's nice to be able to enjoy and capture these moments, the interaction of the people on the streets, their relationship with the city. They turn into leading characters in the narrow alleys without even knowing that their shadow or figure will be part of a shading game just when it slips in the streets.
