Dr Carol Look We are very privileged to have access to information on marketing our business from internationally respected EFT Tapper Dr Carol Look. Carol talks about how we need to tap on any block to success and more…
Marketing your EFT Here are some tips and hints to help you successfully market your EFT practice. First you will have to look at using tapping on any and all blocks to becoming more successful. If you concentrate on marketing strategies but haven’t improved your vibration and balanced your own energy, you will be blocked from moving forward.
YOU are your best marketing tool!
What are your potential clients seeing/hearing/feeling from you? It is essential to be a solid energetic model for your clients Do they like what they see? Are you walking the walk, not just teaching a technique? Are you congruent with what you are teaching? Why would clients choose you?
There are hundreds of excellent practitioners…
What sets you apart? What do you offer that’s different/ new? What do you offer that might inspire clients? Do you have good “boundaries”?
Time boundaries Personal/professional boundaries Confidentiality Money boundaries Specialist or Generalist
Have you chosen to specialize in one particular area of mental health, or are you a generalist? Would you go to a practitioner who works on “everything” without a specialty?
Pick one or two topics that truly interest you and get enough experience with this population Write about your cases. Don’t choose topics because you think they might be popular Become an “expert” in one or two areas. 2
Other aspects to tap on are: What’s the “Downside” of becoming more successful? If you are trying to “market” yourself, but have fears about becoming more successful, you will sabotage your practice What are you afraid of if you “stand out” in your field? What happened the last time you were successful? How does it serve you to sabotage your progress? Who might be envious if you get more clients/have a full practice/ are successful? What is the “Upside” of staying where you are? Are you stuck where you are? What’s the value of staying stuck? How does it serve you to stay stuck? Why are you afraid to move forward? Where is your “energy” around moving forward?
Self-Care
Clients can see/hear/feel your emotional (im)balance Clients “see” what issues you have avoided Clients “hear” what topics bother you Clients “feel” when you haven’t cleared an issue

Pamela Bruner Pamela Bruner has also been a real inspiration in helping many practitioners in EFT build up their business and she has an interesting story to tell. Pamela Bruner Most people think that musicians can't make money - the term 'starving artist' is a cliche! Eight years ago I quit my corporate job to become a professional harpist. In three years I went from $7000/yr to over $100,000/year, and I want to help you enjoy the same kind of success! After a few years as a musician, I realized that my passion is helping others achieve their dreams. I became a coach to do this, and then realized that most life coaches don't have any idea how to become successful. One of the things that I heard continually were folks giving marketing advice saying 'Just do this, even if you hate doing it, because you need to'. Doing things you hate is not the only way to success! I had to find a way to make it easy. 'Make Your Success Easy' was born. I use state-of-the-art mindset tools to make it easy and fun to do all the things that make a business successful. And so can you! 3
We will be sharing with Pamela and featuring more on EFT and Business including how to market your EFT practice in the next edition of the EFT World News. Contact Pamela at: http://creatingpowerfully.com
Tapping and Business By Pamela Bruner, Success Coach, Certified EFT Practitioner Tapping is a perfect technique for removing fears, limiting beliefs, and blocks to positive, necessary action. Running a business, particularly for the entrepreneur or independent service professional, is an activity that brings up fears, doubts, and a host of other negative and disempowering emotions. Overcoming these is often the difference between success and failure. In future articles we’ll look at using tapping to overcome negative emotions and limiting beliefs with regard to business, particularly business for the tapping practitioner. These ideas are also useful for practitioners who wish to focus on using tapping for business clients.
Why is tapping so essential for business? Triggers for our negative emotions exist in many areas of life – we have triggers in relationships, around our bodies and health, and certainly around money. Business activities can be enormous triggers. Here are just a few examples: Sales and marketing may trigger fear, inadequacy, rejection, unworthiness, shame Handling technology may trigger inadequacy, feelings of stupidity, frustration Planning may trigger fear of failure and fear of success Organization may trigger overwhelm, control issues Professional relationships may trigger self-doubt, anger, trust issues 4
Handling/Making money may trigger fear, shame, unworthiness Public speaking may trigger panic, shame, anxiety All of the above may also trigger bodily sensations such as a pounding heart, sweaty palms, nausea, or difficulty breathing. It is essential for the tapping practitioner to work on herself to remove the energy disruptions causing fear, distress, or feelings of inadequacy around these activities. If these emotions are not handled and removed, the results can include the following: Not enough income/business not viable An inability to market services effectively Missed opportunities Undercharging for services Inappropriate spending out of fear We’ll look now at some common beliefs that limit business people, and suggest tapping phrases and approaches to reverse those beliefs.
What’s the number one use for tapping in business? If you have a particular issue, clearing that one will be your number one use! However, the most common business fear for service professionals and entrepreneurs is difficulty around sales and marketing. Here are some of the most common blocks to sales and marketing, and the suggested tapping phrases.
1. Limiting Beliefs About Sales and Selling LIMITING BELIEF: ‘I don’t know what to say in a sales conversation.’ Sales technique is a matter of study and practice. There are many great books on sales techniques and sales conversation. There was a time when you didn’t know anything about tapping, or any other service that you provide. You learned. You can learn to handle a sales conversation also. The actual emotion behind this phrase could be a feeling of inadequacy, or feelings of stupidity, or the belief could be a cover for other beliefs about sales. One option is to tap on the emotion, as in: Even though I feel inadequate in a sales conversation, I choose to love and accept myself. Getting to the emotion behind the belief will often uncover core issues, and can be very helpful. Alternately you could simply tap on the belief: Even though I don’t know what to say in a sales conversation, I choose to know that I can learn. Do a Choices Trio round (details on next page) with the negative reminder phrase: ‘Don’t know what to say in sales’ and the positive reminder phrase: ‘I choose to know that I can learn’ 5
This is an interesting tapping sequence, because the expected outcome is not necessarily that the belief ‘I don’t know what to say in a sales conversation’ will go away, or become untrue. Instead, there are many different possible positive outcomes. For example: You may still believe that you don’t know, but become excited to learn. You may realize that you knew more than you thought you did. The belief may completely diminish in importance, to be replaced by another limiting belief such as ‘I don’t like sales’. If that is the case, proceed to work on the other limiting belief.
The Choices Trio Dr Patricia Carrington developer of the Choices trio How do you do the choices Trio? Basically you do a set-up statement that replaces the affirmation part with a positive choice, so for example: Even though I have this headache, I choose to feel calm and peace in my whole body. The Choice part can just be the opposite of the "problem", but it must be expressed in positive and enticing words, so you'd really like it! Then you use the shortcut process points, and for the first round, you use the "problem" reminder words, the second round, you use the "choice" words, and then the third round you alternate between the two. This uses an NLP technique where you anchor the positive thought to the negative thought, so whenever you find yourself thinking the negative thought, you automatically choose the positive thought. It can be used on all problems you'd use EFT on. So everything! Many EFT practitioners (myself included) will use the normal shortcut method for the first round or two, then when the strength of the feeling has reduced to about 5/10, you swap to the choices method to install the positive belief. Rick Wilkes Attracting Perfect Clients More excellent marketing help and advice from top tapper Rick Wilkes as I reviewed the list everyday for five minutes. During the following month, one-third of my newsletter subscribers UNSUBSCRIBED! Without any logical reason! I didn't even publish that month. My intuition said, "All is well. We're clearing the decks of non-perfect clients." (I admit that I tapped on that.)
Make two lists. On the first list, write out Attributes of My Perfect Clients. My list currently has 60 attributes. #1 They are hearing the inner call to Thrive! rather than just survive— physically, emotionally, mentally, financially, and spiritually. (Regardless of their current level of wellness).
Over the following two months after creating the two lsits, my subscriber base doubled and has grown significantly month after month. My interaction with clients became easier and has remained joyful to me. One of the attributes on my list is #44 My clients enjoy paying me. I've never had to "collect" from a client. I think I reminded one client to pay once... in four years.
#3: They are open and ready. #40: They are punctual and keep their appointments. To make the list, put the qualities you most admire in your current and dream clients. Also, notice what contrast is showing up in your life, and turn it on its head. For example, I had clients showing up late or not at all.
I also find it very easy to schedule clients. My list includes that my clients can expect me to be available (#14) and also have healthy boundaries (#3) as well as take care of myself and my needs (#25).
#40 turned that contrasting experience into what I most wanted. I almost never have no-shows or late clients now.The other list is what many people miss: What My Perfect Clients Can Expect from Me. Include on this list personal qualities and even the days/times you are willing to be available. My list includes:
This kind of vibrational clarity helps us to activate the Law of Attraction and then allow Source to make us Bright & Shiny to those who are a match for us... while divinely filtering out the clients who are not a match. We often focus on the attraction qualities of this kind of exercise. I choose to also honor the blessing of having Source filter from my experience those where I am not the optimal match for what they are looking for in a coach. Try it, and let me know what you notice!
#8: Respect, for the uniqueness of their path. #10: Non-discrimination, that they can be fully themselves in all their perfection and with all their perceived imperfections, and still feel safe. #22: Profitable, that my work will generate healthy profits to insure continued growth.

I originally created my list back in 2005. Doing so clarified my vibration, especially 7
Brad Yates Marketing Your Tapping Practice Brad Yates has been tapping for many many years and has witnessed the process evolve in that time. Below he offers his unique perspective on building a better practice and promoting your services. Okay…so… no one is ever going to call me a marketing genius. In fact, I have been publicly outed by a marketing expert as being quite the opposite. But, in spite of my lack of expertise – and sometimes outright refusal to play the game – I seem to be doing pretty well. I often say that God is my marketing director – I get nudges, opportunities and invitations, and my job is to say, “Yes.” So, here are some of the things that have worked for me. Do What You Love It’s said so often that it’s become cliché – “Do what you love and the money will follow”…”follow your bliss”…etc. But it’s true. I didn’t pick a career that I thought would be profitable – I just kept doing what felt right to do. I love what I do, and people can tell, and that keeps moving me forward. Plus, from a Law of Attraction standpoint, nothing creates success like passion. You might make money at a career without it – but that wouldn’t be worth it for me. And, the more you love what you do, the more likely you are to deliver quality service – which is hugely important. Clear Your Blocks to Success Probably one of the things that has benefitted me most is that I work with folks on clearing blocks to success, so I am always borrowing benefits and clearing any of my own blocks. You gotta practice what you preach. Especially clear the fear that you won’t please everyone – because it’s highly likely (I won’t say certain, though I’m tempted…) that you won’t– and that’s all part of the divine perfection. Allow yourself to be okay with it. Give Stuff Away I started my newsletter list by giving away an e-book on someone else’s list. It was something that people found real value in, and my list grew. I also now have several YouTube videos that people get to access for free, and that has drawn a lot of folks to the other things I offer. Besides – being of service is what we are her for, right? It all comes back to you anyway.

Partner with People You don’t have to do it all on your own. Napoleon Hill talked about using OPB (Other People’s Brains) – it’s a good idea. Whether it is partnering with people on a product, or being part of someone’s product launch, or being interviewer/interviewee on teleseminars and radio shows – allow other people to help bring out the best in you and share that with others. Say “Yes!” This one comes with a caveat, though. It’s not like Jim Carrey in “Yes Man” – you don’t have to say “yes” to everything. Trust your intuition and be true to yourself – manage your integrity in what you agree to do. But – challenge yourself also. As you allow yourself to get into the flow, doors will open – and many of them will open onto unfamiliar territory that might make you apprehensive. Be willing to push yourself out the door of your comfort zone. “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.” I hope this is valuable to you. Go out there and… Be Magnificent! You can find out more about Brad at his website: http://www.bradyates.net Or hear the many interviews from him in the EFT Tapping Hub.
Five Top Tips on Marketing EFT By Gwyneth Moss EFT Master Those who attended the EFT Masterclass 2007 in Ilkley will have met Dawn Clarkson my accountant and business partner in EFT Events. Dawn runs an accountancy practice in Leyburn, North Yorkshire with several hundred clients, a growing number of staff and offices in grand Thornborough Hall but when I first met Dawn five years ago she had just ten clients and did their tax returns on her kitchen table. Now you might find it strange that I am writing an article about marketing EFT and starting by telling you about my accountant but everything that took Dawn from the kitchen table to Thornborough Hall applies to EFT. Here are five tips I’ve learned from watching her business blossom and how I’ve applied them to my own EFT practice which in the same five years has grown from seeing a few clients in my spare room to running international EFT events. 9
1. People buy People they Like When we are marketing EFT we are marketing a service and a service is always personal. Think about the other services you buy: your hairdresser; cleaner; electrician; yoga teacher, financial adviser. Do you like these people? Do you enjoy doing business with them? If you didn’t would you continue to do so? Do you refer business to them? Dawn and I often go to business networking events together and I see how people enjoy talking with her. They ask her for her business card, she doesn’t have to offer it. She is nice to be with and pleasant to interact with. She is interested in you and your business and so does not need to push hers. When writing a leaflet or website copy, write from the point of view of the reader and not about yourself and your qualifications. Write in a conversational style remembering WIFM. Or “what’s in it for me?” which is the question in the back of your reader’s mind. My first tip is BE NICE!
2. Put Your Vibration Out There Walking through Leyburn with Dawn is a slow process because in the short length of the High Street she is stopped by at least half a dozen people saying hello. Her name and face are known throughout the town and known for fairness, integrity, generosity and efficiency. Dawn has involved herself in community projects from amateur dramatics to running a Wine and Dine club. Every week new clients turn up by word of mouth. Now I am not suggesting that you take to the boards of your local drama group. There are many other ways to get known and known for EFT. EFT communities are blossoming online with the biggest and longest standing being the half a million subscribers to Gary Craig’s newsletter. And he will publish your articles to those half million people at no charge. So all it takes to get your name out there repeatedly is your time and energy to write articles. Every time you tap: it’s a potential article so get into the habit of writing and sending articles to Gary. Then spend a little time online joining and contributing to every EFT community you can find, the emofree forums and the yahoo groups and Facebook. Get your name out there. Build a website and put your own vibration into it. Your own writing. Your own photos. Many of the people who come to my trainings or for one-to-one sessions, whether from across town or across Europe, say that they chose me because they liked my photographs see www.emotional-health.co.uk . Put your self, your uniqueness into your site. Even if someone builds it for you make sure the writing, colours and design express you – remember PEOPLE CHOOSE PEOPLE who are OUT THERE.
3. Invest in Yourself Dawn is constantly learning something or getting interested in something new then feeding that into her business life. My next tip is to make technology your best friend and to invest in your written and spoken communication skills. If you don’t like computers, then either accept that in the twenty first century you are handicapping yourself or tap for your resistance and get some training. Computers are now nowhere near as scary as they used to be. I started from scratch and built three websites for almost no cost at all, just by learning as I went along. Invest in your skills: 10
There are many free or low cost computer training courses through Learn Direct or Business Link Learn how to edit your own website and keep it fresh and up to date (I use Adobe Contribute). Invest in your writing skills. Go on a creative writing workshop or journalism course so that your articles really draw people as well as informing them. Learn digital photography so that the images on your website contain your vibration. Take a public speaking or presentation skills class and tap till you feel comfortable and confident in front of an audience and can be your natural best when introducing EFT. Have an image make over so that you look as good as you sound and feel. Go on Marketing courses to learn practical tips for online and offline marketing. You are running a business so browse the business books as well as the self help books – get interested in marketing. To get OUT THERE you need to INVEST IN YOURSELF.
4. Under Sell and Over Deliver When Dawn is your accountant you always get a bit extra. Whether its more time or more information or an introduction to a potential client or a speaking opportunity. She is generous with her time and energy. With EFT this means building in over-run time between sessions or giving free advice through your website and articles (articles again) or free group introduction sessions. If clients can’t pay then ask for a testimonial or permission to write an article (articles again) as an exchange. As a trainer I offer repeat-for-free so that students can come back and repeat my trainings without charge and bursary places for those who work for charities. For the www.EFTevents.com site and my newsletters I am always looking for something of value that I can give away. That’s the key, do or give something that the receiver feels grateful for and you have made a step to building a relationship so that they will be back for more. And it goes without saying: be really good at what you do. Practice, practice, practice and keep on learning. INVEST IN YOURSELF so that you can build your CONFIDENCE TO DELIVER.
5. See it, Feel it, Talk it, Be it Dawn is always talking about the future: plans for expanding her business into new territory or taking on specialist staff. Whenever we meet she has six new ideas, three projects in development, and lots of visions that inspire and excite her. Have lots of dreams, indulge yourself in dreams – they are free and some of them will make it to reality. Don’t be discouraged when some fail to fly, just dream up some more. Spend lots of time day dreaming up EFT ideas. I recently dreamed up an EFT for Animals workshop to teach surrogate tapping and now its there on the website www.eftevents.com/animals.htm and several people have registered.
11
Whenever I list a workshop on my website I see the room full of people at that time of the year. Then I talk about it, to myself or anyone around to listen. I write about it. Or I go into the conference room and pretend it. I introduced this year’s EFT Gathering by saying to the 120 full seats “Wow! You are real!” because several times I had stood there and spoken an imaginary audience. When there is an obstacle or an unknown, tap and then put out the question to the universe: “How can I….?” then keep your eyes and ears open for the answer ready to take action. Be CONFIDENT to DREAM IT AND BE IT. Now its your turn to make these tips your own and to plant the seeds of growth in your own way for your own successful business. And remember that seeds need nourishment, protection and several seasons to germinate and grow up big and strong. It takes time, patience and persistence to build a thriving practice. Along the way both Dawn and I have had our frustrations, despair , and those low points where it seemed like nothing was working. That’s how a seed grows, if you sit and watch it then it seems like nothing is happening but keep watering and feeding and each year its taller and stronger. Dawn Clarkson is an EFT Practitioner as well as an excellent accountant. If you are looking for an accountant who loves what you do and is interested in helping you do more then you can find her through http://www.o-reilly.co.uk/leyburn.htm By Gwyneth Moss, EFT Master www.Emotional-Health.co.uk
