Get Golf Ready! —In One Day

Saturday, October 2 | 9 am - 2:30 pm Develop your golf skills in less than a day! The Eglin Golf Course presents “Get Golf Ready!”—a fast-paced Saturday golf lesson for beginners or those who need a refresher. Topics of instruction include putting and chipping, using the right clubs, golf course etiquette and the rules of the game. Dog Obedience Classes

Oct 5 - Nov 2 | Tuesdays 5 - 6 pm Oct 13 - Nov 10 | Wednesdays 4 - 5 pm Can’t get Rover to roll over? Basic Dog Obedience is just what your pup needs! Classes are specialized for pups over four months of age, or adult dogs who have had no previous training. Your canine companion will learn basic obedience commands and good doggy manners, and individual behavioral problems such as excessive barking and jumping will be addressed. Course sessions last five weeks, with classes held for a maximumof 10 dogs. The first class meeting will be for owners only (no dogs should attend, please!). Cost for each five-week course is $80 and includes everything needed to participate. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough; owners are asked to bring their dog’s shot record to the first class. Register and pick up additional class information at Outdoor Recreation at Postl Point. 850-882-5058

Eglin Golf Course Club Championship

October 9 - 10 Register by Noon on October 6 Golfers in the Eglin community are invited to participate in the 2021 Eglin Golf Course Club Championship! The first round on the Falcon Course will begin Saturday, Oct. 9 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and lunch afterward, and the second round on the Eagle Course will 7


begin Sunday, Oct. 10 with tee times starting at 9 a.m. and awards following the completion of each flight. Entry fees are $60 for Gold AGF, $80 for Silver AGFand $100 for Non-AGF; the cost includes cart fees, green fees, range balls prior to competition rounds, the prize fund and lunch after the first round. Participants must register and provide payment by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Contact the Pro Shop for more information. 850-882-2949

Spooktacular Junior Golf Clinic Friday & Saturday, October 29-30

Calling all junior golfers —grab your best Halloween costume and get ready for a Spooktacular Junior Golf Clinic! Instructor Denise Kafferly is offering three sessions for junior golfers on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 29 and 30 at the Eglin Golf Course. The cost is $10 per junior. Family Fun Golf

Sundays | Discounts begin at 2 pm It’s family fun on the Falcon Course every Sunday afternoon starting at 2 p.m.! An adult accompanied by a child age 8 to 17 pays HALFPRICEgreen fees, and the accompanying child plays for FREE. Golf cart and equipment rentals are available at regular price. The Pro Shop has balls, tees, sunscreen, hats, and everything needed to enjoy your afternoon together. Children must be 8 years or older to go on the Golf Course. Wingman Golf Program

Saturdays | 11 am - 3 pm

Calling All Single Airmen! — Take advantage of the Wingman Golf Program at the Eglin Golf Course. Single Airmen who are assigned to Eglin can play complimentary golf on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in groups of two or more players. Each round includes green fees, cart fees and a small bucket of range balls; rental clubs are not included. Tee times must be reserved by calling the Pro Shop and identifying yourself as a single Airman wanting to take advantage of the Wingman Golf Program. Presentation of military ID is required at check-in. Contact the Pro Shop to learn more and register.

Child Care Aware: Assistance for Military Families When military families need child care that the Eglin CDCs and FCCare unable to provide, then they may reach out to Child Care Aware. This organization, in partnership with the Department of the Air Force, can provide assistance in finding child care outside the gates and potentially receiving a subsidy for that care.
