Marketing Yourself for a Second Career Wednesday, June 26 | 8 - 11 am

If you're an Armed Forces member who's considering transitioning out of the military within the next 5 years, you are highly encouraged to attend the Eglin Airman & Family Readiness Center's "Marketing Yourself for a Second Career" seminar at the Enlisted Heritage Hall (Bldg 1763). This annual seminar is presented by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and includes comprehensive information on developing the right transition plan, crafting résumés and cover letters, maximizing networking and informational interviews, capitalizing on social media including LinkedIn, preparation for successful interviewing, negotiating salary and benefits, and other important transition topics. The featured speaker is Col. Brian Anderson, USAF (Ret), Senior Director of Career Transition Services. All ranks are invited, and spouses are encouraged to attend as well. Parents’ Day Out

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED Saturday, June 22 | 5 - 10 pm Eglin's Child Development Center offers a special time for parents to enjoy a "Parents' Day Out" one Saturday every month. This popular child care program provides a break for parents while children are safely supervised in a fun and exciting environment. Families with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years may sign up on a space-available basis for $25 per child. Activities for children will include games, movies and craft projects. Payment is non-refundable and due at the time of pre-registration, along with completed paperwork and a current shot record. Space is limited, and reservations should be made by close of business on the Thursday prior. Families eligible for FREE participation are those with referrals for the "Give Parents a Break" program (call the Airman & Family Readiness Center at 850-882-9060 for details) and U.S. Army personnel through the Army Covenant. Young swimmers ages 11 and up must pass a swim test before using the pool unattended. Please see a lifeguard during open swim. Only USCG approved flotation devices are allowed in the pool. Inflatables or foam noodles are not allowed. No flotation devices are allowed in the deep end. Mission Essential Users can request access to the pool calendar to schedule training. REGISTRATION REQUIRED NEW DATE: Friday, July 19 | 4 pm Join the Eglin Youth Center for the 2019 America’s Kids Run! Each year, military dependants in the United States and across the world participate in America's Kids Run. This year’s event is a color run. All runners will receive an America’s Kids Run t-shirt for participating. The event is FREE and open to those with base access. Please register online until Friday, July 19 at www.americaskidsrun.org. Sponsors will be required to sign and submit a permission slip consenting to allow Youth Center Staff to execute any emergency actions (if needed) during the event.
