Troops to Teachers REGISTRATION REQUIRED Tuesday, August 27 | 1-3 pm Tuesday, November 26 | 1-3 pm If you're an eligible member of the Armed Forces interested in understanding the certification process of becoming a school teacher once your military career is over, you won't want to miss "Troops to Teachers" at Eglin's Airman & Family Readiness Center. This informational session offers guidance on how to become a K-12, charter, or Bureau of Indian Affairs teacher. Discussions include program benefits, how to qualify for a Florida Teaching Certificate, the demand for teachers in Florida, and how to improve chances of employment. STEM Saturday: Saturday, September 7 | 11 am-1 pm Start coding screen-free with Color Codes that tell your Ozobot Robot what to do. • Library Card Sign-Up Month
Monday, September 2 - Monday, September 30 September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. Visit Eglin's Library during September and register for a library card and receive a prize (one per family while supplies last). • Future Stars Golf Program
REGISTRATION REQUIRED September 21 | October 5 & 19 | November 2 & 16 The Eglin Golf Course announces a new Future Stars golf program for boys and girls ages 4-6. It's fun introduction introduction that teaches full swing, sort game, safety and etiquette. The 5-week program meets every other Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Cost is $100 per player and includes equipment if needed. Class is limited to 4 participants. Lap Swim Only: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 6 am - 10 am The Eglin Pool is open for use by all base personnel & their families. All non-instructed swimming at the Eglin Pool is FREE! Young swimmers ages 11 and up must pass a swim test before using the pool unattended. Please see a lifeguard during open swim. Only USCG approved flotation devices are allowed in the pool. Inflatables or foam noodles are not allowed. No flotation devices are allowed in the deep end. Mission Essential Users can request access to the pool calendar to schedule training.
