Find your inner artist! Come and join us at Legends Sports Grill for a Sip & Paint Night, hosted by Splash Paint Party Studio. Price is $15 for Eglin Club members, $30 for non-members, and includes a personal cheese plate to snack on, an event glass, a canvas, and all other painting supplies. Painters will also receive one drink of their choice — including a glass of wine, a pint of beer, or a non-alcoholic beverage. The bar will be open for purchases. Must be 16 and up to participate. Full Moon Kayak Friday, September 13 | 6 pm Sunday, October 13 | 6 pm
Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out from Postl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, a small fire with s'mores, and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have some prior kayaking experience. Cost is $20 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. Monday, September 2 - Monday, September 30 September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. The Eglin Airman & Family Readiness Center is offering Microsoft Word Training to spouses of Eglin's active duty Air Force, provided FREE through a grant from the Air Force Aid Society. The 5-day session of classes includes Word Core Essentials, Word Fundamentals A & B, Word Advance Essentials A & B, and the opportunity to receive MS Office Specialist Word Certification. Young swimmers ages 11 and up must pass a swim test before using the pool unattended. Please see a lifeguard during open swim. Only USCG approved flotation devices are allowed in the pool. Inflatables or foam noodles are not allowed. No flotation devices are allowed in the deep end. Mission Essential Users can request access to the pool calendar to schedule training.
