September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. The Eglin Airman & Family Readiness Center is offering Microsoft Word Training to spouses of Eglin's active duty Air Force, provided FREE through a grant from the Air Force Aid Society. The 5-day session of classes includes Word Core Essentials, Word Fundamentals A & B, Word Advance Essentials A & B, and the opportunity to receive MS Office Specialist Word Certification. Select Saturdays, 10:30 am - 11:30 am: Sept. 21 | Oct. 5 & 19 | Nov. 2 & 16 The Eglin Golf Course is excited to announce a new "Future Stars" Golf Program for boys and girls ages 4-6. This fun and hands-on introduction to the game of golf will teach full swing and short game, plus safety and etiquette. Cost is $100 per student and includes equipment, if needed. Intramural Flag Football Players Sign Up (LOI's Due) By: September 9 Season Starts: September 30 Players interested in participating in Eglin's Intramural Flag Football season should sign up at the Eglin Fitness Center. Contact the Fitness Center staff at 850-882-6028, or your unit's sports rep to get involved. All active duty, Guard, Reserve, DoD civilians, contractors and dependents over the age of 18 are welcome to participate in intramural sport seasons. Participants must be assigned to or affiliated with units on Eglin AFB. A coaches meeting will be held at the Main Fitness Center. All dates are tentative and subject to change.
Streetball Tournament Friday, September 20 | 3 pm Showcase your streetball skills in a 3-on-3 Streetball Tournament presented by Eglin's Fitness Center. Trophies will be presented to the top three teams, with special prizes for first place and the team most fashionably dressed. The event will be held inside the gym at the Main Fitness Center (Bldg 810). Teams are asked to sign up at the Main Fitness Center prior to the day of the event.

New Orleans Cemetary Tour Saturday | October 19, 2019 Eglin ITT invites you to come along on the No. 1 guided tour in New Orleans, for a look inside the walls of St. Louis Cemetery. Known for its rich history as the final resting place of many illustrious Louisiana families, the cemetery includes the mysterious tombs of such legends as Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau and socialite serial killer Madame LaLaurie. Participants will also get to explore an old brothel and the red light districts of yesteryear, the famous musical venue Congo Square, and the Haunted Museum with its paranormal displays, hall of Voodoo altars, Creole courtyard, and ghost photo gallery.
